Black Badger - Chapter 446

446. Arrest (2)
Luke stared at his motive with an unreadable face.
They were walking out of the water. Nana was taken to the medical tent by the instructors, and the sea was calm again.
Jack turned his head.
The motive that just showed me that strange scene.
After confirming that Nana had safely arrived on land, Luke dived back into the night sea to find Jack.
But that wasn’t the end of it.
There were also creatures in the sea that shone so beautifully that they were overwhelming.
And Jack Black was floating in front of the large creature glowing blue.
There was no way they could have a conversation, and neither side said anything of note.
Strangely, Luke had a strange feeling that Jack had been talking to it.
It’s been a while since I’ve seen a cartoon where a fish talks to someone.
Anyway, Jack seemed pretty happy after sending that big thing off and coming back out of the water with it, but then his expression suddenly hardened, so I couldn’t help but ask him a question.
“Are you hurt?”
“Ah. No.”
Jack swept away the wet scar.
“I just had a bad thought for a moment. It’s okay.”
“… Well, that’s fortunate.”
Is this the kind of person who would suddenly have bad thoughts?
The Jack Black Luke knew was not much different from the star driver Blackjack portrayed in the media: polite, positive, and confident based on his skills.
He had an outstanding sense of humor, and he exuded an indescribable presence that caught people’s attention just by standing there.
I thought to myself, “This is what a superstar looks like.”
So I don’t think I would suddenly have negative thoughts.
Since that was the case, I didn’t ask any more questions.
As they walked to the beach, the only sound they could hear was the sound of them cutting through the water.
Luke asked only after the feeling of the water around his ankles had faded.
“What were you doing there just now?”
The motive of the detection, which seemed to be lost in thought, turns its head.
Orange eyes stared at him.
“I asked you to listen to my heartbeat.”
Jack whispered in a voice only he could hear.
“Did you hear that too?”
I didn’t hear it.
And what on earth did he mean by asking for more information? Thinking that he would have to ask more questions later, Luke walked to the hospital barracks.

Yoon, Yehyun, Ricardo, did you understand what I said?
Suddenly I felt uneasy.
I wasn’t worried until now because they are smart people.
As the time to actually do the work approached, unnecessary worries began to well up in me.
Of course, I couldn’t help it. From now on, things would start rolling. If things went according to plan, Colton would receive my message that I would not stop seeking revenge. Then, it was the beginning of an unstoppable hunt.
But even in that process, he would try his best not to touch his own people. He knew very well that it would be best to create a final opening for the enemy to surrender.
So, I took the option of putting the people I care about in danger in order to avenge my own people.
What a piece of trash you are.
Most of my seniors probably have no idea what I chose.
When the truth comes out, I’m sure I’ll be met with looks of betrayal and disgust, but I was already prepared for that.
And Ricardo must have felt betrayed, but I was grateful that he didn’t express it.
How could they not feel betrayed when they were put in danger to avenge their dead compatriots?
Rick doesn’t like his own kind either… .
If Ray were alive, he might have broken Colton’s will to seek revenge, as he said. I treasured the new relationships I had made that much.
But Ray died.
…I killed him though.
But I had no intention of stopping, as long as Colton was one of the people who pushed me to kill Ray.
If Kyle heard that, he’d be furious and call me a liar.
That’s true, but let’s leave that story alone for now. It’s not like you can come in and stab Colton to death.
“Come this way.”
We boarded a black van, surrounded by CIS agents.
What looked like a celebrity van turned out to be a convoy vehicle.
There are people in suits riding in a row on both sides and in front of me.
Conway was the last to get in and close the car door. The man who had sealed the place walked over to the black carrier behind the driver’s seat.
The man took out a syringe wrapped in clear plastic.
“It’s a sleeping pill.”
Conway opened the package, showed me the needle, and stuck it into the inside of the elbow of the person sitting diagonally across from me.
“As you can see, it is harmless to the human body.”
“Treat your subordinates gently.”
I let out a terrified voice as I watched the agent fall into a lifeless sleep as soon as he got the injection.
“And I don’t want to get hit with that. I want to take a sleeping pill in a vehicle full of enemies who want to cut my throat?”
“Because I can’t show you where we’re going.”
“There aren’t even any windows in the car.”
“There is a windshield.”
oh my god.
While we were talking, the car started moving.
No one moved or panicked.
I sighed as I looked down at Conway, holding the syringe.
“If that’s what you want, just cover my eyes with a cloth.”
“great.”
Anthony Conway wasn’t stupid enough to force himself into taking a shot.
He knew full well that I could subdue the men in the vehicle even while handcuffed.
“And since Green Dream doesn’t work for you, I ask for your understanding in advance that we have no choice but to use other medicine instead of Green Dream.”
“I don’t feel like doing that.”
Conway picked up another syringe while the agent next to me jumped up and pulled a black cloth from his carrier to use as a blindfold.
Is it a drug?
“I’ll stay quiet until I see the Child who ordered me to be arrested. Do you really need to inject me with drugs?”
“If you want, you can deal with us right away. Our bodies will be good nourishment for you.”
“If you had the will, you would have done it now.”
“Mr. Hildebert.”
Conway called my name.
As I raised my head, he took out a laptop from his carrier.
He personally adjusted the screen to my eye level.
“So, it starts with Kairos.”
I saw that a piece of writing exposing Kairos’ true identity was written in the draft folder.
It wasn’t a case of being secretly filmed. However, there were a lot of suspicious points listed, such as academic background and the existence of parents.
The internet will burn down as soon as the content is uploaded.
It’s possible to threaten Kairos without pointing a gun at his head.
Conway pressed the keyboard to switch the screen to show other scenes.
“Now, these are the ones we are paying attention to.”
There was Asil, there was Tom and Hesi, there was Ricardo and Jonathan, there was Sophia and Carl.
It felt like I was re-opening You’s stalking file that I had seen with Kairos before.
I couldn’t hold it in any longer and let out a sigh.
“good.”
The moment consent was given, Conway opened the syringe’s packaging.
“You did all this just to gain eternal life? You guys are amazing.”
“You wouldn’t know.”
Conway put a needle into my arm.
The agent muttered to himself as nausea struck him.
It was the first time I heard his human voice.
Regret, deprivation, and anger.
“Even if you knew, you probably forgot it a long time ago.”
I didn’t bother to ask what it meant.

Don Child had no choice but to take me to the CIS prisoner interrogation room.
If he had brains. All other options were risky. Take me out on a fishing boat? Colton would pat himself on the back and try to drown Don Child and me. Try to get out of the core? Colton would drop a missile and kill two birds with one stone.
The situation was similar in other places.
So Child was left with only one option.
A social institution that Colton cannot just shove away, but also a place full of my henchmen and weapons that can subdue me at any time.
CIS headquarters.
Although Childna and I were at each other’s throats, Child’s ultimate goal was eternal life, and my ultimate goal was the information held by CIS, so there was no conflict until I entered the building.
I feel sick because of the medicine.
Still, he moved forward obediently, despite being held by the agents.
The feel of the ground under my feet changed from dirt to marble.
As I walked for a long time, stepping on the marble, the air changed. It felt like I had entered a room filled with air that was so fresh it almost seemed artificial.
It reminds me of a lab.
Chalgreung!
As the agents fastened thicker chains around my wrists and ankles, more old memories came to mind.
This time my memories went back much further.
I tried to focus on my senses, pushing the memories that were flooding back to a corner.
Only after I hear the door close does Conway remove my blindfold.
A vast white space appears before your eyes.
The chains on my wrists and ankles stretched out on the floor like large snakes.
At the corner of the white wall is a huge vent that looks like it might spew smoke at any moment.
Behind it, the presence of a monster was detected.
It’s an ashen cloak.
“Nice to meet you.”
So the CIS is keeping the ash cloaks locked up and using them to interrogate criminals.
After a brief exclamation of admiration, I looked at Don Child.
The man standing in the middle of the room looked a little older than the photo Eric Earhart showed him.
I think it’s because I’m tired.
That doesn’t mean he wasn’t active.
Don Childe gave off the vibe of a seasoned, older mercenary.
I thought about this when I saw the greeting card, but this person looks a bit like my teacher.
It’s even more so when you see it in person.
“I didn’t know you would be dragged in so easily. You are as arrogant as the rumors say. This must be the foundation for faking your death. Your social status and reputation must be hindering your free movement.”
Money spoke.
I laughed at the sight of a lanky middle-aged man who didn’t move.
“that’s right.”
Eyes tired of the cruelty of the world are like a teacher.
Even the fact that humanity is worn down by the pressures of life and becomes increasingly sharpened to fight against the misfortunes that befall it reminded me of my teacher.
However, after hitting rock bottom, the master ended up rolling into a small temple in the countryside. There, he lived a somewhat peaceful life as a temple guardian before leaving.
It must have been really annoying to have one ignorant kid running towards the sharp blade you set up without any regard for it.
Still, I remember that he gradually regained his human appearance.
It was an anecdote so old that the dust that had settled would scatter if it were not blown.
A story that has nothing to do with the present.
Money has come too far to be rehabilitated like my master.
“I’m sorry, but your son will not have eternal life.”
I spoke in a soft voice.
“I heard that nothing would change if you injected healing power into that child’s body. That’s what both Spitfire and Sukhoi told me.”
“Shut up.”
Don Child answered coldly.
“You saw the notebook. You’re not in a position to talk to me right now.”
“Are you trying to kill me right now?”
When asked again, Don snorted.
“The moment I point my gun at you, my head will be blown off. Even without a sword, I know you are a monster.”
“Then what are you going to do? Keep me locked up like this and hand me over to Colton yourself?”
I’m asking because I really don’t know.
“Are you just keeping me?”
“I’ve been interrogated and tortured enough.”
I’m here.
“Do you know what the point of it is?”
“Leave some hope behind.”
He answered with a big smile.
As if Colton left his people alone in this situation, leaving me with a chance to surrender.
“Leaving room for people to believe that the worst is not yet over.”
“Yeah. I want to do that.”
Don Child sighed and explained.
He may have been a good guy, up until a point.
“I will torture and interrogate you, but I will not kill you.”
Money spoke.
“You know what I mean, Hildebert? Let them die, hoping that they can strike back at any moment, between the torture and interrogation.”
They’re going to slowly kill me.
You are a wise man.
Colton was put in a position where he had to do the work for him, but he did it the only way he knew how.
Even as I thought that, I couldn’t stop the corners of my lips from rising.
The escape won’t take long.
I need to escape before I lose my energy because I haven’t eaten enough.

Two days passed.
“Hilde.”
At the sound of money calling, I raised my head slightly from where I was lying on the cold floor.
“It’s water.”
Slurp
Fresh water sprinkled nearby.
I watched it create a puddle.
I have to escape today.
I decided before going to lick the water and drink it.
It’s just the right time.
