Damn the World, Ride a Submarine - Chapter 103

Episode 103 – Great Offensive
Transporting the Ukrainian Marines, the landing force for the landing in Yevpatoria, was itself a challenging operation.
Admiral Son I-il and Captain Bae Heung-sin knew such difficulties very well.
– Even if the Tawi Tawi ship is fully filled, 2,000 people must board it. The rest must be divided into cruisers, destroyers, and ESBs.
– The port of Odessa will probably be in a hectic situation, like a market storm. It would be the same on board a ship.
– If you rush too much in such a situation, not only can there be a risk of non-combat losses, but it can also cause major disruption in the performance of the landing operation.
The Russian military must have already sensed that we were moving toward Odessa.
As it took longer to transport troops, there was a risk that the landing operation would be exposed and give them time to respond.
The landing operation had to be prepared quickly. It was natural that the probability of success in the operation would decrease as time was delayed at Odessa Port.
“Admiral, Captain!”
– yes.
– yes. CEO.
“then. “Let’s transport by air as the fleet moves.”
– ah!
“Use as much of the MV-22, CH-53K, and helicopters on each ship as possible. Let’s load the troops in advance and load armored vehicles and other equipment in Odessa.”
– Oh, I think it’s possible. The MV-22 can accommodate 24 people.
– Standing seating: Up to 32 people can ride while standing. The CH-53K King Stallion can also accommodate 30 people.
– There are 10 aircraft combined, so 250 people per sortie. You can do it if you use cruisers, destroyers, and even ESB helicopters.
– Although operations and aircraft control are not easy. It’s quite possible.
– Even if you cannot burn them all, it is possible to increase reinforcements after leaving Odessa Port.
“great. “The MV-22’s operational radius is over 700km, right?”
– yes. We will launch the MV-22 right away.
The MV-22 tiltrotor aircraft, a vertical takeoff and landing aircraft, took off one after another from the Tawi Tawi ship.
Another transport operation has begun. It was a completely different transport operation than Operation Santa Claus.
Close operational cooperation and communication with the Ukrainian Marine Division was necessary.
The command and control room on the Tawi Tawi bridge was filled with the busy breathing of officers and non-commissioned officers holding walkie-talkies and telephones.
– 6 MV-22s are on their way now. Since 180 people can ride, please have the first rider on standby in each company.
– From Tawi Tawi, you will again be transferred to other ships by helicopter by echelon.
– During operations, please distinguish between surface landing units rather than heliborne units. I repeat. Send the surface landing force first.
– Armored forces will board the Tawi Tawi ship after it enters port.
The scene was similar to that of brokers shouting while holding three or four phones in the futures trading market in New York.
The amphibious assault ship Tawi Tawi had all F-35Bs on its deck stored in a hangar below the flight deck.
The first MV-22 landed on the Tawi-Tawi carrying troops and took off again after completing maintenance and refueling.
Ukrainian marines who arrived at Tawi-Tawi by plane again took a helicopter according to their organization.
It had to be transferred to the destroyers, frigates, and cruisers of the OSS 1st Squadron.
As the distance to Odessa narrowed to about 400km, CH-53K Kingstellion helicopters were also sortied.
Soon after. A busy scene of controlling and guiding troops disembarking from landing helicopters and transport planes was created on the flight deck.
Meanwhile, the ARK and the Lee Hoi-young surfaced and picked up Ukrainian SEAL special forces agents.
They were advance infiltration agents for the landing operation.
In this way, more than 3,000 troops were able to be loaded before arriving at the port of Odessa.
More than anything. Confusion could be prevented by being able to classify troops according to their organization by operational echelon in advance.
The OSS 1st Assault Amphibious Squadron arrived at Odessa and was able to load all of its equipment and a significant number of troops onto its ships in one day.
Troops that could not yet board were scheduled to be transported by transport plane and helicopter on the way to Yevpatoria.
This landing operation was an over-the-horizon operation.
In other words, it meant that the fleet concealed its location beyond the horizon and commenced the landing operation at the landing site.
First, the MQ-9 STOL drone was dispatched from the ESB mobile base line and began 24-hour reconnaissance.
ARK and the Lee Hoi-young sank near the infiltration point carrying Ukrainian special forces.
The start of the landing operation
It began with the release of an SDS (SEAL Delivery System) carrying Ukrainian special forces from the ARK into the water.
The SDS attempted to infiltrate the secluded beach of Yevpatoria at night while submerged.
Although it was a place that had been secured in advance by secret agents from the SBU Security Department, it was a tense moment.
Ukrainian SEAL team broke away from SDS. It was underwater. With a dragger (closed-circuit breathing apparatus) in his mouth, he quietly arrived at the coast of Yevpatoria without foaming.
We were able to confirm the appearance of special forces appearing on the coast in the combat information room through the thermal imaging camera of an aerial drone.
A quiet infiltration was possible because the SBU agents had done a good job stopping the attack in advance.
Once the infiltration base was secured by them.
RIP boats were deployed from the Lee Hoi-young, which surfaced, and Ukrainian special forces members divided into four boats slowly approached the landing site.
The special forces’ entry operation was carried out by our OSS special forces agents. This was to ease the burden of operating the equipment.
The Ukrainian SEAL team arrived at the infiltration base and began neutralizing the border posts and patrol facilities at the landing site one by one.
The day began to dawn.
The OSS 1st Assault Group has completed preparations for landing. We were awaiting the start of the DAWN operation of the Southern District of Ukraine.
The Southern Ukrainian Army announced over the radio that the operation to retake Kherson had begun.
Summer Offensive. Operation DAWN has begun.
…
Kherson’s Southern Army began bombarding the Russian defense line.
32 Cheonmu multiple rocket launchers of the OSS artillery brigade began firing 130mm and 200mm rockets, and 96 120mm SPM self-propelled mortars fired 8,000 shells in 20 minutes.
While the artillery fire stopped, about 600 Revolver 860 attack drones of the OSS Drone Brigade loaded eight mortar shells and flew away, searching for hidden Russian troops captured on thermal imaging cameras and began simultaneous aerial bombardment.
In one sortie, 4,800 rounds of 60mm mortar shells were rained down.
At the same time, about 50 Bayraktars launched UMTAS missiles at Russian tanks and armored vehicles.
While the Russian army was distracted, the southern Ukrainian army began its advance with a tank brigade at the forefront.
…
After confirming that the Southern Ukraine Army’s operation to retake Kherson had begun, we also began this operation.
The OSS 1st Assault Group on the Black Sea began an amphibious landing operation, pouring 6,000 Ukrainian marines into Yevpatoria.
Beyond the horizon, Operation Transhorizon has begun.
First, seven AH-1W/Z attack helicopters departed for the landing base, and 50 Bayraktar TB3 drones covered the sky over Yevpatoria.
Behind them, dozens of helicopters, including MV22, CH-53K, and MH-60, were flying over the sea carrying 500 members of the Ukrainian marine vanguard.
Then, the OSS frigates No. 2 and No. 3 approached the coast, and an F-35B squadron was sortied on the flight deck of the Tawi-Tawi and covered them from the air.
Resistance on the coastline was minimal.
50 Bayraktar TB3 and 10 MQ-9 drones launched UMTAS anti-tank missiles at Russian tanks, armored vehicles, and anti-aircraft artillery batteries.
Seven AH-1W/Z Viper attack helicopters approached the coastline and destroyed machine gun emplacements and bunkers.
Ukrainian marines disembarking from helicopters in Operation Heliborne secured the beachhead on the Yevpatoria coast like drops of ink dropped into water.
The six MV-22 tiltrotor aircraft that first dropped off the Marines returned to the Tawi Tawi and flew to the landing site carrying 180 Marines.
Russian fighter-bombers that managed to avoid the air defense network appeared one after another, but they were often shot down by Haegung, a surface-to-air missile launched from a Chungnam-class frigate.
Even if he had avoided it, he could not escape the F22 that was on patrol at the US Air Force Base in İncirlik in Türkiye.
Even as the Ukrainian Marines were dropped off with heliborne, the OSS’s 1st Assault Amphibious Squadron approached 3km off the coast of Yevpatoria.
Five LCM-8 Mechanized Landing Craft (LCM-8 Landing Craft Mechanized) departed from Tawi Tawi and approached the coast under the escort of ships 2 and 3.
The first five LCM-8 mechanized landing craft to arrive at the shore brought out five AS21 Redback armored vehicles and 200 Marines.
Squadrons of MV-22 tiltrotors and helicopters repeatedly dropped hundreds of Marines on coastal beachheads. Five LCM-8 ships poured out 500 Marines at once.
The Ukrainian Marine Division quickly established a coastal bridgehead and simultaneously advanced to the western city center of Yevpatoria, creating a defensive strategic point.
They occupied Route 60-richchya SRSR and blocked all traffic.
The road was a 2.5 km long stretch of road located northwest of Moinaks’ke lake.
Once Route 60 was occupied, the OSS Task Force’s Process Control (CCT) team was deployed there in an MV-22.
OSS’s CCT team has completed preparations to guide the landing of the C-M5 Super Galaxy transport aircraft.
OSSAC’s C-M5 transport planes departing from Odessa and Tawi-Tawi Bongao landed on Route 60 in Lichcha in accordance with the success of the landing operation.
They put down equipment and supplies, including the AS21 Redback armored vehicle, and took off again.
After the landing at Yevpatoria and a bridgehead for airlift were created.
The military power projected by our OSS was 6,000 Marines, 30 AS21 Redback armored vehicles, 100 anti-tank missile bows, and 100 surface-to-air missile bows.
The area around Lake Moinakke in Yevpatoria had already been restored to Ukrainian land.
…
Meanwhile.
On the Kherson Front of the Southern Ukraine Army, Russia’s defense lines were being destroyed one by one in the following order: artillery bombardment > drone bombardment > tank advance > infantry advance.
In particular, the losses of the Ukrainian military were minimized through the three-dimensional operation of our OSS drone regiment.
When the bombardment is over.
Hundreds of Revolver 860 attack drones were launched loaded with eight mortar shells and repeatedly rained down mortar fire on hiding Russian troops using infrared and thermal imaging cameras.
The major offensive with Ukraine’s northern, eastern, and southern armies and the landings on the Crimean peninsula seemed to be going smoothly.
