He is Already a Tycoon at a Young Age! - Chapter 59

New York Manhattan
“The Hitler Foundation will establish orphanages, libraries, and schools not only here in New York but throughout the United States. Mr. Hitler will provide regular support…”
Bernays’ presentation followed.
Sitting in front of the podium were not only reporters, but also citizens and politicians from all over New York.
I sat on my chair and looked at Bernays.
‘I didn’t know Bernays would take the initiative first.’
The PR department that oversees the Hitler Group. Bernays made the idea I came up with into a concrete organization.
It was Bernays who came first, saying he wanted to work under me.
‘What was the trigger?’
So far, I’ve left the marketing work to Bernays.
Well, what’s good is good.
I’m not a fool to kick away a lump of gold that rolls into my arms.
‘As the business grows, it becomes difficult for me to handle PR on a daily basis.’
From now on, I just have to take charge of setting the overall direction.
“Now, Mr. Hitler himself will answer the reporters’ questions.”
As I stepped onto the podium, a shower of flashes of light poured down.
Press conferences are familiar yet difficult.
‘It seems like we do this almost once a week.’
I guess I need to practice some more on my own.
A reporter asked in a shouting tone.
“Can you tell me exactly how large the donation foundation you announced this time is?”
“Let me put it simply in numbers. Before I die, I plan to donate 99% of my entire fortune to the foundation.”
“Did you say 99%?”
“Yes, that’s right. The specific amount will be announced later.”
I answered in a calm tone, looking at the jostling reporters.
99% until death.
‘Actually, it’s closer to a pun.’
He didn’t say how much he would donate right now.
What percentage will it be in 10 years? What percentage will it be in 30 years?
I didn’t even make that promise.
But what’s important is the numbers that are announced.
In other words, it is an announcement that he will donate 99% of his entire assets.
Anyway, people won’t go into detail about specific donation conditions.
“I earned all my wealth here in the United States. Wouldn’t it be right to give back the profits I earned to the United States?”
This should be enough.
A flawless answer.
One reporter raised his hand and asked.
“Charles Ponzi, who committed fraud and fled, has not been arrested yet. Do you have any opinions on this matter?”
“I understand that the government authorities are currently investigating. I have also hired detectives to conduct a separate investigation.”
Charles Ponzi.
That guy is really hard to catch.
Most people who invested in the Ponzi scheme got their money back, but the damage was not completely repaired.
There are not only families that are broken and divorced, but also companies that are bankrupt.
‘The damage is much less than the original history…’
There were immigrants who came to me every day to complain about the damage they had done to me. Some even asked for revenge.
‘Let’s try using Hoover.’
Unlike regular police officers whose activities are restricted by state, they will be able to investigate at the federal level as well.
With Hoover’s abilities, I think he’ll be able to catch it in no time. Even hounds need to hunt sometimes.
“As you all know, I have not been directly harmed by Ponzi. However, he used my name to promote his fraud, and he will pay for it. I will never give up.”
As soon as I finished speaking, people responded with cheers. Most of the people here are immigrants.
There must be quite a few victims who have been scammed by Ponzi.
“Do you have any other questions?”
“Regarding the composition of the foundation…”
After a brief press conference, Louis Armstrong and his band began to perform. The young people received music education at a nearby orphanage.
‘I guess I should practice my trumpet more often too.’
Armstrong complimented me several times for being a quick learner, but I wasn’t sure if he was being sincere.
I don’t think I’m ready to play yet, Richter asked with a smile as we sat down.
“Is this also part of the hypocrisy operation?”
“You could say that.”
I smiled and answered too.
It’s hypocrisy.
In fact, there is no need to create a foundation like this if you only think about money.
But when it comes to influence, it’s a different story.
That’s something that can’t be easily bought with money.
“It will soon be possible to connect with Morgan. Then, my costs will be reduced and the effect will be greater.”
“That, that’s why you planned Capitalism, ho!? To drag Morgan into the Foundation business?”
“That’s not it, but whatever is good is good.”
Amelia Morgan had made a similar suggestion last time, and it seemed as though Morgan herself had had a change of heart.
Then Louis Armstrong looked at me and bowed his head.
“Then next is Pops’ favorite song. Pops, would you like to play it with me?”
The band members looked at me with expectant eyes.
“You would be amazed at how well Hitler Pops plays the trumpet.”
I was drawn into the atmosphere and stood up awkwardly.
No, I’m not good enough for that yet.
Playing in front of so many people?
The crowd cheered when they heard Armstrong’s words.
It feels like I’m at a concert.
‘Let whatever happens be.’
Even if you make a mistake, you can just overlook it.
I received the trumpet and stood in the center of the band. The clear melody of the instruments followed.
I picked up the trumpet slowly.
‘Damn, I never get tired of listening to jazz.’
The Hollywood Parade is coming soon.
Let’s play there too.

Washington DC
United States Department of Justice
“Hey, Director Hoover. What’s going on with you these days?”
Attorney General Palmer asked as he entered the director’s office.
“There’s been talk among the agents lately. They say you’re acting different than usual.”
“There are always strange rumors going around, Minister. I have no problem.”
“Well then, that’s good.”
Secretary Palmer stared blankly at Hoover’s desk. The newspapers were laid out in an unusually messy manner.
It seemed like a collection of all the newspapers published in the United States.
This is also not Hoover-like.
“Is there any news you’re looking for?”
“Don’t you always have to find information to catch the commies?”
Hoover answered with a slightly trembling voice.
He swore as the cigarette he was holding burned out and touched his fingers.
“Oh, shit! I’m sorry, Director.”
“I told you last time, don’t push yourself too hard. Let’s just go quietly until the new president takes office.”
Secretary Palmer frowned.
Hoover was a man who always had plans within his plans.
But now, he looked terrified.
What on earth could possibly scare Hoover?
“I gave orders to my agents to focus on the Ponzi investigation. What happened in the meantime?”
“Didn’t the Minister tell us to put the investigation into the communists on hold for a while?”
“Hoover said, rubbing his cigarette into an ashtray full of stubs.
“If we can catch the controversial Ponzi this time, the public’s perception of the Justice Department will change. It will be an opportunity to turn public sentiment around.”
“That’s true, but don’t throw too many agents at a trivial matter. The state police can handle that.”
“I’ll keep that in mind. I’ll try to resolve this without it having a major impact on other operations.”
“Do so.”
As he left Hoover’s office, Secretary Palmer tilted his head.
“There’s definitely something strange.”
Hoover’s hands were clearly shaking as he scanned the newspaper.
“A man who would terrify Hoover.”
After thinking about it for a moment, he started walking again.
Palmer’s own situation was not so easy that he had to worry about Hoover.

Hollywood
“Hey, everyone, be careful! If you don’t, you’ll fall over!”
A giant Mickey Mouse balloon floated past.
The whole city was busy preparing for the parade.
‘Film and Electricity Day.’
The parade continued to grow in size, with rumors even circulating that something was being built on the Hollywood Hills.
Film companies were also busy preparing special screenings, souvenir shops, and film museums.
As always, Hollywood welcomed guests and tourists with open arms.
“A map with the addresses of movie stars’ homes for just $1! Selling for $1!”
“A crus elixir that will give you strength just by drinking it! If it doesn’t work, we guarantee a refund!”
Hollywood never turned away guests, as long as there was enough green money.
Tesla is one of them.
He walked slowly, observing the noisy street.
Not many people recognized his face.
‘There are a lot of radios in the West, too.’
Tesla Radio.
Radios bearing his name were seen everywhere.
Tesla stopped every time and looked at the radio receiver.
It was the first time that something he had created had spread so widely.
Days spent alone in the lab, absorbed in experiments.
Memories of the Wardenclyffe Tower, which had taken years to build but had ultimately failed, flashed through his mind.
“Hey, isn’t today the first day of that program? Those two comedians are on it.”
“We probably have about an hour left before we start. There’s a nice radio restaurant nearby, let’s go check it out.”
Tesla felt a strange sense of mystery as he watched the people gathered around the radio.
A tingling, prickly feeling in the heart.
“Extra! Extra! This year’s Nobel Prize in Physics goes to Thomas Edison and…!”
The newspaper boy’s cry rang out.
A short boy waved a newspaper and shouted with all his might.
Tesla walked towards the boy without knowing it.
‘Edison won the Nobel Prize.’
He snorted inwardly.
Until this morning he was arguing with Edison.
“Didn’t Hitler say that he was holding a parade for me? Then of course I should stand in front and you should stand in the back!”
“It’s Movie and Light Bulb Day. Didn’t Mr. Edison invent the projector we use today? Just the light bulb…”
As was the case every day, the two fought until they almost grabbed each other by the collar.
“That old man really doesn’t change. Hitler is really amazing.”
Hitler coaxed and cajoled Edison to get what he wanted.
A skill that is so impressive that it makes you exclaim in admiration when you watch from the side.
‘By the way, Edison won the Nobel Prize.’
How much more will I have to cry?
Tesla frowned as he recalled Edison’s triumphant face.
“Extra edition! Extra edition!”
“Kid, give me one too.”
Tesla took a coin out of his pocket and handed it to the boy.
“Yes! Here it is…”
The boy’s face hardened for a moment when he saw Tesla.
“Are you Nikola Tesla?”
“That’s true. I didn’t know you would recognize my face.”
“No, congratulations on the Nobel Prize!”
“What? Nobel Prize?”
Tesla asked with a smirk. There had been rumors that he and Edison would jointly receive the Nobel Prize.
“Read the front page here!”
The boy said, unfolding the newspaper. A large headline on the front page.
[The Nobel Committee has selected Edison and Tesla as joint winners of the Nobel Prize in Physics… The achievements of the Advanced Institute for Inventions are also drawing attention from around the world.]
“?”
Tesla stood still, blinking as a large Mickey Mouse balloon flew past him.
Soon people began to gather and chatter.
“That guy is Tesla. Isn’t he the scientist who won the Nobel Prize this time?”
“Who made the Tesla radio? I might get an autograph.”
“Congratulations on the Nobel Prize, Mr. Tesla!”
Shaking hands with people he had never seen before, Tesla smiled sheepishly.
This was also the first time he felt this emotion.

Author’s Note
Q: What is the history of American philanthropic foundations?
A: Today, the United States is called a foundation paradise, with many different foundations operating, but the history of foundations began in earnest only about 100 years ago. Its history began in the early 20th century, when the first generation of businessmen (so-called robber barons) who were the main players in industry retired. During the industrialization process, businessmen who had amassed enormous amounts of money from the sale of oil, steel, etc., created foundations for social work, leading to a boom in the creation of foundations. The representative Rockefeller Foundation also established the Rockefeller Institute for Medical Research, the first medical research institute in the United States, in 1901.
But at the time, people were suspicious of the businesses and timing of Rockefeller’s donations. Whether or not the donations were intended to manipulate public opinion, the timing coincided with the Rockefeller family’s worst social situations.
In 1907, when he donated $32 million, the Supreme Court justices were handing down their ruling, and when he announced the creation of the $100 million Rockefeller Foundation, it was five days before the Supreme Court issued its brief dissolving the trusts.
In 1913, the year the Rockefeller Foundation was founded, there was a strike at the Ludlow Coal Mine in southern Colorado, which was effectively owned by the Rockefeller family. It was triggered by the death of a worker shot by a Rockefeller private policeman, and quickly became a major strike.
The miners, most of whom were immigrants, lived in shabby shacks provided by Rockefeller for rent and had to buy their daily necessities at the company-run general store. Even their monthly wages were not in cash but in coupons arbitrarily assigned by the company, and even that was not enough to cover the minimum cost of living.
Vigilante mercenaries hired by the Rockefellers fired rifles, shotguns, and machine guns at the strikers, and on April 20, 1914, the National Guard was called in to burn down the strikers’ residences and open fire with machine guns.
At least 24 people, including eleven children and two women, were killed in what became known as the Ludlow Massacre. It also had a negative impact on the public perception of the Rockefellers. The Rockefeller family was later criticized for hiring a marketing expert named Ivy Lee to promote the idea that the fire in the tent camp was started by stoves set by miners, rather than by the National Guard.
