How To Be Misunderstood as a Villain in a Zombie Apocalypse - Chapter 202
Chapter 21. The Art of Deceiving One Another (14)

We entered the resort. We quickly changed our clothes, but Camilla still seemed to have difficulty moving. However, she refused to leave quickly.
“I’m a sniper. If I can get into the right position, I’m worth a hundred to one.”
Eventually, we both hid ourselves by the window and glanced outside. Now the helicopter was close enough to see the unit’s markings. The ‘Elsa Army Air Corps’ markings were clear.
There were three helicopters in total. Two were heavily armed attack helicopters, and one seemed to be a troop transport. After a while, a loud siren blared from the helicopter’s loudspeaker.
“It’s spinning around. It looks like it’s looking for something.”
Camilla whispered. The helicopter itself was noisy, but with the siren added to the noise, the zombies that had been hiding came crawling out in droves. The minigun attached to the helicopter spun around and scraped the ground. The zombies were torn apart like rotten tomatoes.
“Kiyaeeeek!”
As the first wave splits, this time it hovers in the air.
『Elsa Army Air Corps, reporting. Elsa Army Air Corps, reporting. If there are any survivors, please come to the rooftops. This city is about to be bombed indiscriminately. I am warning you again. If there are any survivors, please come to the rooftops immediately or wave your hand out the window. You will have three minutes.』
Three minutes later, an attack helicopter seemed to stray to the side and then returned in a large arc. It was spitting out rockets. Rockets were flying into abandoned vehicles, LPG tanks, and gas stations.
An entire city block literally exploded.
The ground shook from the shockwave. The glass windows of the resort located quite a distance away shattered simultaneously. Fortunately, Camilla and I were able to cover ourselves with the blanket before the rocket flew, so we were not hurt.
“That crazy…! You’re saying you don’t care whether there are civilians or not!”
It was just as Camilla said. Fortunately, the area where the bombings hit was only filled with zombies. The problem is that those helicopters are moving to other areas.
Cars started leaving from all over the place.
– John!
An urgent radio transmission from Leticia arrived.
“Oh, we’re okay!”
– Get out of the resort! I just overheard the communication channel, and it looks like they’re going after the resort first!
A vacation spot?
But it seems a little late. The troop transport helicopter is already flying in this direction. Two attack helicopters surround the area as if they were escorting it.
“this.”
The bombing was a trick from the beginning. Zombies tend to seek out loud noises and vibrations. The area where the explosion occurred is on the opposite side of the resort.
Escape in a car? That’s ridiculous. A car is two-dimensional, but a helicopter is three-dimensional. There’s no way you can handle it.
In that case, the only other option is to hide in a resort, but this is also not a good option. It is not a place that is operating normally, and unfortunately, all the furniture has been removed due to remodeling.
“John. I’ll stop here… .”
“no.”
Why did you come right after everything was in shambles?
Well, it’s not like there’s no way at all.
* * * * *
On the roof of the resort. A Black Hawk helicopter stood still. Eleven members of the National Military Police descended simultaneously along the rappel. They were all wearing gas masks to avoid infection.
Landing. Almost as soundless as a cat landing on the ground. Three walked down the stairs, while the other eight tied themselves tightly to the railing and descended headfirst. It was like a poisonous spider going down a string.
Slurp, thud.
They opened the glass window slightly and entered one by one. The agent in front raised his fist in the air. The blanket had fallen next to the bed, but no matter how you looked at it, there was evidence that someone had been there just a moment ago.
The hand gesture that meant ‘beware’ spread quickly. Someone put their hand to their ear. It meant they could hear a sound.
Thump… boom… bang… .
The crew all looked up at the rooftop. It was a ventilation shaft. It was clear that someone or something was moving along the ventilation shaft and making noise.
Land. Land. Land.
This time, it sounded like a fist being slammed down. The agents raised their guns to the ceiling. But then, one of the agents raised his hand and waved his finger.
“Rooftop Team. Response?”
Someone sent a small radio message.
– check.
The agent mumbled a reply, his mouth stuffed with rags. He waved his fingers in the air and sent a complex hand signal.
From noble mtl dot com
‘Rooftop Team’ ‘Captured’ ‘Danger’
The other agents stared blankly at the director for a moment, but soon came to their senses. The agent who had been transmitting the radio continued.
“I hear noise from the ventilation fan. Please check it.”
– Ok. That’s it.
Another complex hand signal followed. Three of the men stood by the window. Two on either side of the front door. The remaining three aimed their guns at the doorway.
– Support required. Repeat. Support required on rooftop.
The director nodded and signaled, ‘Attention.’
“Okay. Going up.”
The commander gave a signal. ‘Hold your positions. Fire carefully. Prepare for close combat. Open the door only when the signal is given. Three. Two. One.’
The agents standing next to the door swung the front door wide open.
A small container came into the door with a thud.
It was a flash grenade.
Takang!
I was able to turn my head because I had prepared in advance, but I couldn’t do anything about the deafening noise that struck my ears. I was wearing a headset for operations, so the shock was less, but there was already a fight going on at the entrance.
Tata! Tata!
“Ahh!”
“Eww!”
Three soldiers fell in an instant. They were wearing bulletproof plates so their lives were not in danger, but the enemy seemed to have already noticed this and attacked their arms, legs, and the tops of their feet.
That was when.
“Eeeeeeeeeee!”
The officer suddenly screamed and slammed into the wall. Although it was painted, it was a temporary wall, unlike other places. The officer easily knocked down the wall and rushed at the person shooting at the front door.
A brawl broke out.
Some of the military police hurriedly dragged the injured back. Bloodstains were splattered all over the room, but they quickly used Cybele’s first aid kit to fill the wounds. The flesh was strangely fast and the wounds were quickly filled. The other members tried to intervene in the fight in the hallway, but the two men were fighting so fiercely that they could not even think of intervening.
“Get down!”
At that moment, the commander shouted. Almost at the same time, a sniper fell down with a bang! The bullet aimed for the nape of the neck hit the lower part of the helmet and ricocheted. Fortunately, he survived, but the shock was no different from being hit in the nape of the neck, causing the soldier to stagger.
A second shot followed the impact. The director’s helmet flashed and then fell off, flying to the other side. Then another shot came. Part of his wavy silver hair was cut off.
– Virginia!
Outside the resort, a loudspeaker blared from the water tank of the building next door. It was Camilla’s voice.
– Don’t talk nonsense, your head will explode! Put your hands up and get on your knees!
Virginia growled briefly, but obediently did as she was told. The brawler staggered to his feet. He wiped the blood from his nose with his fist.
* * * * *
That b*tch is like a boar.
The grip is so strong that it feels like my nose is sinking in. It’s Virginia. It’s not someone else, it’s Virginia who came here herself. But how?
“How did you find me?”
“… Where else would a prodigal son go but to eat and play? It wasn’t hard to pinpoint your location.”
“Is that so, wife? Why did you come here? Why? Did you come to fulfill your marital duty?”
“This kid…!”
It was a pity. If I had moved my hand just a little more, Camilla would have made a hole in the back of my hand. Virginia had superhuman patience and didn’t move a single hand. I aimed at the other military police officers one by one with my gun.
“You guys. If you don’t want to get lost, get down on the gun floor. Right. Good job. Virginia. Hey, what are you carrying with you, three guns? A rifle and two pistols? Does that even hit a pistol? Isn’t that a hand cannon?”
What’s with the barrel length? If you hit it straight, it would crush the head of an elephant. But I can’t bring myself to take that gun away. If I approach it wrong, I feel like my wrist will break.
“Shall I ask you again, wife? Why are you here?”
“conversation.”
“Don’t you know what I’m talking about? Conversation is for people with equal strength. You can’t talk to someone who can tear off metal plates with his hands.”
No, it’s scary. First of all.
Virginia still looks up at me with murderous eyes.
“No. There is. There will be a great war. Minsk’s forces will advance on the capital of Elsa. If everything had gone according to plan, they would have wasted their firepower on the western zombie defenses. But you cleared away the zombies, and the plan went awry. Now there is no way to stop Minsk’s forces.”
“And you managed to bring the helicopter here without any problems? You were wasting a lot of firepower.”
“Because I think it’s worth it to catch one of you. And you don’t think I came here for nothing, do you?”
Virginia smiled eerily. Her gaze was directed at me, but strangely misaligned. I glanced back, cautiously wary.
“… Leticia?!”
Leticia stood there, holding a rifle and aiming it at me.
“Hello. John.”
