“What? The Master came to the mansion?”
Thinking about it, the probability that Leonard, who had gone to the palace, would accidentally pass by where she was was extremely low. Furthermore, the park where Cordelia was was not close to the palace.
“Yes. She was nagging the coachman who had taken Lady Cordelia and then left right away… … We were worried because we thought something had happened. Are you okay?”
After hearing Leila’s explanation, Cordelia suddenly felt sorry for sulking at Leonard. It seemed that she was worried that she had left without saying anything.
She passed Leila and headed to the reception room where Leonard often stayed. He was talking to Baron. Cordelia stood awkwardly at the doorway, waiting for the conversation to end.
Normally, he would have at least given her a glance, but Leonard didn’t even turn his head.
Instead, Baron was the first to notice her and greeted her with a gentle smile.
“Did you enjoy your outing?”
“Yes. Well.”
“Next time, I’ll send a maid who knows the geography of Yebo Delrim well. There are so many things to see that you might not be able to see everything and go to Wilarth.”
“Thank you, Baron.”
Baron gave a light greeting and left the room. He didn’t forget to close the door quietly.
Leonard still didn’t even glance at Cordelia. Cordelia hesitated for a moment and then approached her cold master.
“Master.”
“Tell me.”
“Are you angry?”
“… … .”
“I heard from the maid. She came to the mansion and went out to look for me because I wasn’t there. I’m sorry. Next time, please tell me in advance… … .”
Cordelia laughed as she lightly tugged at Leonard’s hem as usual. Leonard slapped her hand away as if it was dirty.
“Ah.”
It was an unexpected reaction, so she couldn’t say anything. Cordelia was very flustered and stared blankly at the hand that had been thrown away.
This kind of harsh and cold reaction was something she had experienced before she became Leonard’s disciple in the beginning.
“You.”
He finally looked at Cordelia. Leonard’s purple eyes that met her eyes were swirling with various emotions. Cordelia couldn’t easily read what they were.
It didn’t look like anger. It felt more like confusion or fear.
‘Fear?’
It was an emotion that Leonard was unfamiliar with showing her. Cordelia hid her reddened hand and took a step closer to Leonard. Then she tried to act as if nothing had happened.
“Hey, Master. Calm down. I was wrong, okay?”
“Get out.”
“Let’s have dinner together later… .”
“Don’t you hear me telling you to get out? Why do you keep bothering me?”
“… .”
“You acted as you pleased from the beginning to the end, and why are you blaming me for your mistakes?”
It was too cold and sharp. At least that’s what Cordelia felt.
“I, well, I’m sorry.”
The apology that had been floating out of her mouth for the past few times was a habit.
In fact, it wasn’t that harsh. Compared to the harsh words she had heard from Helena, her father, or her ex-husband, it was just harsh.
Nevertheless, Cordelia couldn’t easily continue her words, and just smiled and took a couple of steps back.
“You’re tired. Get some rest. Let’s have dinner together next time.”
She hurriedly left the room. A corner of her heart stung so much that she felt like she would burst into tears if she stayed like that.
Leonard’s face distorted when he confirmed that Cordelia had left. He threw the pen on his desk onto the floor.
“Damn it.”
He couldn’t control his boiling emotions. It was painful to see Cordelia’s face darken at just a few harsh words.
And that was exactly what confused Leonard.
Why was he so agitated by her? “Don’t expose your weakness.” “What are you saying out of the blue, Your Majesty?
” ‘Your disciple, Cordelia Abrams. Do you intend to make it known that she is your weakness?’@ They were about to return to the mansion. Gabriel said to Leonard, who was adjusting his clothes. Of course, Leonard snorted and ignored her. ‘She is my disciple. She is not a weakness.’ ‘You carried her away in the middle of the banquet where she was introduced, is that all? You broke the ankles of her father, Elector Vasquez, for harming your disciple, and you have been hiding her in the mansion, refusing all invitations to the salon.’ ‘There are good reasons for that.’ ‘Since when did you start making the foolish assumption that the public is rational?’@
Gabriel clicked his tongue and gave Leonard a short piece of advice.
‘If you have something precious, you should know how to hide it. Why are you making such a big deal out of it? Tsk tsk. ‘
Until then, Leonard didn’t pay much attention to his words. He just thought it was useless meddling and let it go in one ear and out the other.
However, when he arrived at the townhouse, he was angry and bewildered that Cordelia wasn’t there, and above all, he felt anxious to a degree that he couldn’t understand.
He didn’t even know the geography of the capital well, so he wondered if he would get lost, if his foot hadn’t healed yet, if he would fall while walking, if he hadn’t properly learned the shield magic, what would happen if someone harmed him? These thoughts filled his head.
He had heard that Belluce had gone with him, but he couldn’t sit still and wait.
‘Where did you drop him off?’
‘Yes?’
‘Where did Cordelia get off?’
The coachman trembled at Leonard’s cold question and guided him to the park where she had dropped him off.
Fortunately, the place Cordelia went to was a busy street frequented by nobles, but that didn’t mean he could feel completely at ease.
Leonard walked around the large park three times. When he finally found Cordelia, he felt relief and a strong shock at the same time.
“Are you planning to let it be known that she is your weakness?”
Gabriel’s words flashed through his mind like lightning.
His behavior was somewhat abnormal, considering that she was just his first disciple, a troublemaker who might do anything if left alone.
Leonard had no idea what this feeling toward her was called. It was his first time feeling this kind of emotion toward a person, so he was confused. He couldn’t
tell if it was just pity, obsession, or just affection for his disciple.
Weakness.
That word was deeply engraved in Leonard’s mind and wouldn’t leave.

“How about dinner… …”
“I don’t have any plans, so don’t come into the room until I tell you.”
Cordelia quickly passed Leila and went into the room. She ran to the bed and covered herself with the blanket.
“It’s okay. It’s nothing.”
He muttered as if he was hinting to himself. Objectively speaking, he hadn’t sworn at her or hit her. All he had done was say a few sharp words.
Despite that, the sadness never went away. He held it in and eventually a few tears trickled out of his eyes.
Leonard’s cold words and face kept coming to mind, making him feel even sadder and more sorrowful.
“Huh.”
A part of his heart tingled. His cold reaction must have been more shocking than he thought. Cordelia pulled her knees together and buried her head between her legs.
At that moment, someone sat on one side of her bed with a light sound. Cordelia quickly wiped her tears and got out of the blanket.
It was Lottie.
“Lottie. Oh, oh, you’re here? Are you hungry? Food, huh, do you want some food?”
Cordelia tried to smile stammeringly, but it was no different from before.
The gray dog stared blankly at Cordelia’s tear-stained face and then came closer. That felt like comfort, so Cordelia hugged the dog and cried like a child.
“Master, oh, it’s too much. I was wrong, but. Ugh. But I can’t say that, sob.”
[Stop crying, little human.]
“Tears, ugh, tears are coming down my eyes, what can I do? Master hit my hand and told me to leave… … .”
Cordelia poured out all the sorrow she had just experienced. After complaining for a while, her heart calmed down a little. Then suddenly she remembered that Lottie had spoken.
“But Lottie. Did you learn to speak again?”
[It seems like the connection between you and me has become a little stronger.]
“Connection?”
She asked what that was, but she couldn’t get an answer. That was the last time she heard Lottie’s voice that day.
“Ugh.”
Cordelia fell asleep from crying and woke up in the middle of the night. Her ankles hurt so much. It seemed like all the walking around she had done today wasn’t enough.
Normally, she would go to Leonard and ask him to cast a healing spell, but there was no way she could ask Leonard who was so angry.
Besides, it was already too late at night to call a doctor.
Cordelia stayed up all night, holding her sore ankle and groaning alone. Leila, who came into the room around dawn, was startled to see Cordelia sitting slanted at the head of the bed.
“Oh, you’re up already?”
“Leila.”
“But your complexion is so bad. Where does it hurt?”
“My ankle hurts a little. Can you call a doctor for me?”
“Your ankle?”
Leila was startled as she pulled back the blanket. Cordelia’s right ankle was twice as swollen as it was yesterday.
