Trusting them wouldn’t have done me any good.

But from this moment on, that was not the case.

I will diligently believe in the Way, faithfully follow the words of the gods, and make many offerings.

It was at that very moment that I made that pledge.

Then, the angry words of the Supreme Lord appeared on the scroll.

: Do you think I’m doing this to get your offerings or faith? Do you think I’ll help you any more because of that?

: It’s not just me. Whether you believe in a god or a Maitreya Buddha, they won’t do anything for you. So you don’t have to believe in anyone. Just believe in yourself.

: However, if you want to believe anyone, believe anyone. And just use them as a reference for your own path.

: Your life is what you make of it. That’s the essence. Do you understand?

What was the difference between that and a fanatic?

A country is a place where existence exists.
