The Story of Typhon – (2)
There was a clear trace of Typhon, a gigantic creature that could cover a mountain, subduing and dragging Zeus away.
A land so completely turned upside down that even Demeter would be shocked to see it.
A gruesome sight where all the surrounding plants, animals, and humans died due to the gusts of wind that naturally flowed from Typhon’s body.
There are traces of divine power left behind as Zeus resists being dragged there.
How far had we traveled, I confirmed that the trail had ended at some mountain.
I looked around the mountain, thinking that there must be a cave where Zeus is imprisoned.
“And now my tendons are in Typhon’s grasp. If you can help me, in the name of Zeus, the king of the gods…”
A voice came out of the translucent hydrogen figure, speaking to the prone human.
I noticed that the hydrogen was created by the divine power of Zeus, so I took off my cloak and approached.
“Zeus.”
“Hmm? Brother Hades… Hermes was lucky to succeed. However, I don’t have enough strength to continue this any longer..”
It seemed that Zeus’ condition was not very good, and as his divine power was disturbed, hydrogen also disappeared.
I looked down at the human lying face down next to me.
“I, a lowly human, Cadmus, meet Hades, the lord of the underworld!”
Oh.. Normal humans would fear and shy away from my name, but this man was different.
Most people call it Hades when someone precious to them dies or when their life is in danger, and in other cases it is called Pluto.
I looked at Cardmos, who was bowing his head and not making eye contact with me, and he began to explain.
He is a Phoenician prince named Cadmus, and Zeus, who lost the fight against Typhon, is trapped in a cave on this mountain.
Zeus had his tendons stolen and sent hydrogen to him to ask for help or something.
The gist of it was that he was ordered by Zeus to retrieve the tendon from Typhon.
It was difficult to understand his ramblings, but there was no doubt that Zeus had gone mad.
Asking a human who would die from a single breath of Typhon to restore his tendons.
Is the situation that dire, or did he see something in this man?
“Are you really going to follow Zeus’ orders? Your short lifespan could be shortened even further.”
If he says he can’t do it, that he’s too scared, that he’s actually scared himself.
If you beg me, I am willing to help you avoid Zeus’ wrath.
But the blond man, Cadmus… didn’t do that.
* * *
Cadmus, the Phoenician prince, is an ordinary human being.
An ordinary human who fears monsters and mysteries and reveres the Olympian gods.
To such an ordinary person…
One day, his father, King Agenor, ordered him to go find Europa, Cadmus’ sister.
An order to send away all of his princes and not to return to the country unless he can retrieve the princess, Europa.
Naturally, Cadmus found no trace of Europa, and he continued on his way in a daze until he reached the vicinity of Mount Cilicia.
But as he was about to search the mountains to find his sister, something suddenly appeared in front of him.
“Human, I am Zeus, the king of the gods.”
He hurriedly lowered his head to something in the shape of translucent hydrogen.
He has a majestic tone and a mysterious aura, and he is definitely a god, although I don’t know if he is Zeus.
God commanded Cadmus to help him.
He asked for tendons from a powerful monster that even a god had defeated.
The commands of God are absolute, and he must follow them.
Cold sweat runs down the back of his neck.
Can I do it?
The reward promised by the bull, believed to be sent by Zeus, the king of the gods, fell on deaf ears.
Cadmus’s mind was filled with fear and terror at having to face the monster.
That was until a gloomy-looking man suddenly appeared.
“Zeus”
“Huh? You’re Hades.”
At that moment, his mind was washed with a fear greater than that of the monster.
The sun was clearly shining in the sky, but the surroundings were darkening and the air was becoming heavy.
Cadmus, whose breathing was becoming difficult, saw the grass around the man withering.
A cold aura emanating from the man took over the surroundings, giving off an enormous sense of presence and weight.
If this is not God, then what is God?
‘Surely… Those two said Hades and Zeus… Then…!’
Author, is that person Pluto, the lord of the underworld?
Is that hydrogen really sent by Zeus?!
He lifted his head slightly and looked at Hades, who was looking at the god Zeus’s hydrogen…
Looking into the gloomy eyes of the male god, he was so shocked that he had no choice but to bury his head on the ground again.

Because there was a black abyss in both eyes that could not possibly be considered human eyes.
Not some common river god, but a high god of Olympus.
‘..Hades is definitely the god!’
Cadmus, who had been bowing his head, felt the hydrogen of Zeus disappear and the lord of the underworld look at him.
My mouth moved on its own as if looking at me as if asking me to explain the situation.
“I, a lowly human, Cadmus, meet Hades, the lord of the underworld!”
‘Should I have called you Pluto..?!’
Cadmus swallowed dry saliva and explained to the Lord of the Underworld who continued to look down on him.
Everything about himself and everything that the hydrogen that Zeus had just sent said.
‘Damn, I stuttered so much, what if you take me to the underworld for being rude..?’
A brief moment of silence as Hades ponders.
Cardmos felt the tension in the prolonged silence as if his blood was drying up.
Finally, the mouth of the god of the underworld moved.
“Are you really going to follow Zeus’ orders? Your short lifespan could be shortened even further.”
Cardmos, who had his head bowed, took a deep breath.
This is clearly a consideration for oneself.
I am worried that a lowly human like me might lose my life to a monster.
From the perspective of the underworld, the death of a human would mean an increase in their power…
A god of the underworld who was so feared and avoided even in his own kingdom that no one built a temple for him.
Pluto, or rather Hades, was such a merciful god?
Despite such kind words, I racked my brain to answer his question.
How should he accept the command of Zeus?
Just as Hades said, lowly humans are easily killed by monsters, so why did Zeus choose me to help him?
Even the monster called Typhon was so fearsome that he defeated even Zeus, the great king of the gods.
No matter how great Zeus is, isn’t my life more important?
It could be a prank from God to test this weak human being.
If I die to the monster called Typhon… I won’t be able to find my sister, Europa, and my brothers…
Cardmos bowed his head and thought and thought until his thoughts were organized.
And finally he answered in a clear voice.
“Yes, of course.”

The look of fear on his face due to my presence has faded.
Is it possible to withstand pressure by using your firm beliefs as a pillar to support yourself?
Although he has been suppressing his presence from the moment he first appeared out of consideration for him, even that would be difficult for an ordinary human to handle.
A look of fear, self-confidence, and confidence coexisting.
Why did he choose to die on Zeus’ orders?
“…Why?”
I had many questions and asked him questions.
Man is not a slave or servant of the gods. If he feels that Zeus’s command is oppressive and makes a choice, I will protect him.
Cadmus cleared his throat and explained the reason.
“Hmm. That’s… I learned about the grace of the gods since I was young. That it was the gods who created all living things, including humans.”
It is true that the gods created humans, but it was a creation born out of necessity. Is the behavior I am showing now really just a way to repay my creator?
“The sun that rose this morning was the mercy of the god Helios, and the moonlight that comforted me every night was the grace of the goddess Selene.”
Cadmus’ eyes held a firm conviction.
His voice no longer trembled.
“The food I eat every day is grains blessed by Demeter, and the water I drink is blessed by Poseidon. In addition to that…”
He constantly spoke of the grace of the gods.
A thought that truly comes from the heart, not something hastily made up or false.
“…even if I die at the hands of Typhon, I will be cared for by the god Hades right before my eyes, so why should I be afraid of monsters?”
amazing.
Has there ever been a person like this in this world?
Cardmos lifted his head slightly and looked at me.
He didn’t avoid my eyes, even though blood was flowing out of his bitten lips, as if it was difficult for him to meet my eyes.
Human eyes filled with will, overcoming the fear of monsters.
There, bravery that surpassed Ares was burning.
“Of course, I am just an insignificant human being compared to the great gods,”
He bowed his head to me again.
Not overwhelmed by the presence of the divine, but filled with gratitude and awe.
“There is no one who is unaware of the grace given.”
At this moment, Cadmus was clearly a hero.
