RUST -10
[Why don’t you think so? Is there something wrong with what I said? Thinking about your family, you can’t do that so openly. Isn’t it possible for you to do that because you’re the kind of person who does whatever you want, whether it’s family or a jerk? I told you that when I first saw you, I was immediately hooked. You caught the Japanese guys, right? Right?]
“······.”
It was Manager Hong who slowly came in. Maru responded with silence.
[Did you put glue on your mouth? There was a legendary butcher in this industry. He was someone who would send his opponents to the gutter with a simple slash of the sword. He wasn’t just national, he was world-class. In other words, world-class. There was a person who was like a movie character tearing reality apart. But he was exactly like you. A natural butcher.]
That bastard. Maru’s face turned terrifyingly cold.
“So what’s your business?”
[What? There are many things. There’s a story about the money my mother spent, a story about my father who was full of tears, a story about my younger brother who’s like ginseng. There’s also a story about a guy who was sent overseas to train talents at a company with great determination, but got into trouble or ran away… Now that I’ve told you this much, I think you get the general idea. So, shouldn’t you make a decision one way or another?]
“······.”
So, the reason you sent me to Japan, tried to get me to work in Japan, and gave my mother medicine was to turn me into a butcher? Maru’s hands were trembling.
‘Calm down. Calm down. Are you going to repeat the same mistake again?’
Maru took a long, thin breath. It was only early October, but every time Maru breathed, white puffs of air came out like steam.
[So let’s meet each other face to face. Let’s talk openly and honestly! Open your hearts! What do you want to do? Should I go there? Or do you want to come to the office?]
“Let’s go.”
[Wow- You have guts. That’s right. Okay. Okay. I won’t make you feel bad, so come and talk. You know Chief Choi? Choi Do-il. I’ll send Chief Choi, so come in that car.]
“See you later.”
[Yeah, it takes about an hour. Okay, I know. When you get there, it’ll be lunchtime. Let’s talk while eating lunch.]
Stop-
Maru turned off his phone without listening any further.

Stop-
“Ha- What a brat. I just cut him off.”
Manager Hong made a dumbfounded expression.
“What should I do? Should I take a look at it while I’m at it and bring it back?”
Doyle said while looking at Manager Hong.
“Okay. The atmosphere at Jeomma has changed. You can tell by looking at his face, but when I worked here, he was so innocent, but now he’s so sharp. He’s really getting on my nerves.”
Manager Hong was known at the company for being good at managing people.
If Manager Hong, who was treated as a half-fairy, said something like that, it meant that something had changed.
Doyle recalled Maru’s impression from three months ago. The air of a model student. A pretty face. A face that had nothing to do with physical work, whether it was dismantling livestock or anything else.
But what did Manager Hong see in that pretty face that made him hit Maru? But the problem was that the design was wrong.
“That lady was taken to the 119 ambulance, so I can no longer work. What will you say to her?”
“That’s the problem. If it had lasted a couple more months, it would have completely taken a toll on me, but two months is a bit short. But once you get a taste of it, it’s not easy to get out, right? Especially for women. Unless you take care of it yourself and spend a lot of money.”
Doyle couldn’t understand why things were so complicated. But he kept his mouth shut, thinking that it was something the company did and something that the young lady and Manager Hong were doing.
“Why? Judging from your expression, I can see why you’re making it so complicated.”
“yes.”
“It all has to do with you, young lady.”
“And the lady and the guy with the young lady?”
“Well, I know the general story, but it’s better for you not to know that.”
“yes.”
Manager Hong tapped his fingers on the desk. The script, the direction, the director, everything was in his hands. One person’s life, one family’s fate was in the hands of the human being, Hong Jun-ho.
There were some flaws in the script, but the overall story was fine. Isn’t the original life drama supposed to be based on a script?
“Okay, let’s see. Maru Temple, who is furious to the point of hair loss, will be here soon. Should we get ready?”
“How many kids should I call?”
Human psychology is subtle, and when stress reaches its peak, it is easy to do stupid things. As I worked at the company, I could see that the line from Manager Hong’s favorite movie was true.
‘Madness is like gravity, you just need to push it a little.’
If you can drive them crazy, whether they’re rich or poor, all that’s left is to give them a little push.
It’s hard to cross the line once, but after crossing it twice or three times, you’ll start jumping rope.
The question is, how much potential does our Maru Temple have?
“Five strong guys? No. When you press, you have to press firmly, so let’s call ten. Let’s make it a quiet place inside and out, so that the atmosphere is good.”
“Quiet there, huh? Okay.”
It was also a buzz that the family would be abandoned.
He said that he was a cold-hearted man who didn’t care about his family, so he must be repulsive, but inside he must be going crazy.
It wasn’t easy to support a ruined house all by yourself. It was common for a guy who came to the company to send a few bucks home to become a common lump of alcohol, drugs, and women.
But the guy was sending home almost all the money he earned from working overtime and weekends. He was in his prime. He must have a lot of things he wanted to do, but in today’s world, it’s not easy to throw away his youth and sacrifice for his family. And the more he’s like that, the more he’s processed into a work of art.
First, if you put him in a good mood, psychologically and physically, unravel the tearful father story, and comfort the fragrant ginseng sister, it will be halfway broken. And it would have been nice if the mother who was high on drugs had just appeared as the climax.
Phew-
But at least the structure is set, and even if you get angry, you can instill a sense of helplessness that there is nothing you can do. If you start with 600 million won for the medicine and tie it up, you can at least put on a basic leash.
“Then I will go.”
“Okay, drive carefully. Even if our Maru employee doesn’t have any sense, just endure it and bring him. Just bring him here.”
“yes.”
“Ah- Just in case, take the kids too.”
“All right.”
As Director Choi went out, Manager Hong tilted his head from side to side. His slightly stiff neck relaxed and made a cracking sound.
“I have to work hard to create a pretty piece of work, but it’s harder than I thought.”
It’s a tricky and fun thing to do though
Manager Hong was absorbed in directing to figure out how to set the mood.

A detective was struggling with a document. It was Maru’s immigration records.
‘You went to Japan for sightseeing for over two months and a half?’
It was ridiculous to think that he went on a tourist visa and went sightseeing. It’s not bad to live in a semi-basement, but given the current situation, it was definitely strange that he went to Japan for sightseeing at this time.
If it was just a simple overseas trip, there were many countries that did not require a visa. But the fact that I went to Japan, where the visa application process took up to one month or two months, meant that there was something going on.
‘It also depends on where you booked your flight when you leave the country.’
World International. It was a company that was presumed to be a Worldpa affiliate, like World Livestock.
‘Is it really related to Worldpa?’
A detective’s eyebrows furrowed. They managed to secure the immigration records, but the cell phone location tracking and chat content verification were rejected. The reason was that there was no criminal record and there was insufficient evidence to prove that he had been involved in a special crime.
The number of intelligent criminals and special criminals is increasing day by day, but the response is slow. Personal information and human rights are important, but shouldn’t we be free to conduct an investigation?
“It’s all because of original sin, original sin.”
When I think about the actions of the prosecution and police before the civilian government came into power after liberation, I can understand why, but when I think about this harsh reality, I feel suffocated.
As one detective was picking up another document, this officer burst through the door and came in.
“Detective Han, detective Ahn from the 2nd and 3rd narcotics divisions is asking us to hand over the case?”
“Detective Ahn?”
“Why is he doing this? This is our case. We were the ones who conducted the initial investigation.”
“But you said to transfer the case···.”
The half-open door opened wide and a head with thin hair popped in.
“The case is your responsibility, but the drug that came out of it is the drug we are tracking.”
“Were we just watching? We were also investigating, and now the case is suddenly being transferred? This is not right.”
“There’s nothing you can do about being so angry. That’s what the manager said. He told me to just get over it and move on. He said that you can’t be upset when you’re eating the same food.”
“Who? Which manager?”
“I am the manager.”
“Fuck-.”
He took away what I was doing last time, and now he’s doing this again. I don’t know what line he’s tied up above, but I’m the manager who’s tiring out many people on the tightrope.
It’s good to tire people out, but I’ve never seen them properly solve the cases they brought to me. When they caught them, they just grabbed the middleman, the pyramid, and made a fuss, and even that was shared only between me and the guys under the manager.
It’s just a mess to take all the data you’re investigating and do it in one go, and it’s just a mess to catch a few guys who crawl out.
“Hey, Detective Han. Watch your mouth. It’s not nice to swear at your superiors in public.”
“He’s a senior and a jerk, and I’m the section chief of Section 2. It’s not uncommon for Section 2 to take Section 3’s case, but this isn’t it. If they just give it to us, do you think Section 3 is just water? If you want to take this case, you have to get permission from the section chief of Section 3 and take it.”
Detective Ahn made a face that said he was amazed.
“Does it really have to be that way? With people living under the same roof?”
“Whether it’s one roof or two roofs, even if we live under the same roof, we should at least have a minimum of courtesy. Do you really have to take what you were investigating while you were there? You should have some shame after the shit you did with what you took last time.”
“Hey, Detective Han! Are you really trying to do this right now?”
“Okay, let’s do it. Who knows if I’ll bring it this time and make a fuss again? This time, it won’t just pass. I’ll go all the way, even if I have to personally take on the section chief and the director. Let’s do it.”
Detective Ahn, who was in a rage, walked out of the detective’s office. The door slammed shut.
This officer, I am not a person, was quietly sitting in a corner.
“Is it okay to do this so openly?”
“What if it’s not okay? I’ve endured it over and over again. I can’t stand it anymore. Organize some data and give it to the manager right away.”
“Right now?”
“Yes. Right now.”
I was going to see it
‘You have no shame. You have no shame.’
One detective was genuinely pissed.
It’s a matter of the account.
