Rust - Chapter 13

RUST-13
As the automatic door opened, Director Baek’s Benz entered the parking lot.
The Benz gently found its spot and parked.
The car door opened and a man wearing sunglasses and a mask got out. He looked like Director Choi.
The employee who was watching the scene on CCTV tilted his head.
‘I heard that Director Baek doesn’t let anyone else handle his Benz…’
It was just a rumor. Anyway, the fact that he confidently drove into the main gate and parked right in the spot where Director Baek parked. It seemed like Director Choi, but he was an employee who was hesitant.
‘These days, there are many CCTV cameras with good picture quality. I’ll give it a try.’
Even though it was a CCTV camera, it was impossible to distinguish a person wearing sunglasses and a mask, but the employee grumbled inwardly and stared at the screen.
It seemed like it was Director Choi because he got out of the car and went straight to the office as if he was at home, making the slight nervousness seem insignificant.
The body type was similar to that of Director Choi. The jacket on top was also the type that Director Choi liked to wear.
Chick-
The radio lit up and Manager Hong’s voice flowed out.
[Director Baek came in in a Benz. Are you looking at it?]
“Yes. I’m looking at it. There’s nothing unusual.”
[What about Director Baek?]
“I think it’s still in the car.”
[···Director Choi didn’t come down either?]
“No. I think the person driving was Director Choi.”
[Really? Where did you go after getting off?]
“I was going straight to the office where Manager Hong is.”
[Then you’re right, Chief Choi. Look outside carefully, and if you see any police officers, check for a warrant first. If there’s none, don’t open the front door and hold on.]
“All right.”
Chief Hong, who contacted the security office directly, recalled the call he received in the morning.
It was a call from a detective telling me to be careful. No matter how much of a jerk the detective was, I was worried that he would rush in without any evidence, but I prepared thoroughly just in case.
Even if Maru had reported it before he was caught and brought here, it wouldn’t have been a problem. Since everything that could be seen was already cleared out, there was no room for anything to come out.
I might trip over the ginseng I brought, but it was nothing more than saying I brought it to welcome back an employee who had been dispatched overseas to be with his family.
There was no need to touch the ginseng that was tightly held. I explained it so that it could be understood.
‘No, these people kidnapped me.’ Would you say something like that? It wouldn’t have been a big problem even if you did something.
If Amy took medicine, wouldn’t she have taken medicine because she was a daughter? Even in the entertainment industry. If you use it in moderation, your senses will improve and your concentration will increase. Once you use it, you can’t avoid the taste. So if you say anything else, they’ll tell you to get a blood test and that’s it.
If you act without any sense, you can be ground up later as a warning to a detective. If you ground up and use it as a sledgehammer, it’s nothing, no matter what.
When I saw news reports about human DNA occasionally being detected in American and Mexican patties, I thought everyone was thinking the same thing.
Even the famous American forensic science couldn’t recover the evidence that had turned into meat. If even the US can’t do it, how could Korea be any different?
If you change it and a detective gets mad and your sister becomes Patty, wouldn’t that be another story?
‘What did you expect from us? What are we going to do if the salty guy keeps poking around? Can’t you imagine? Can you see the picture? It’s exactly as you imagined.’
‘Then is it our fault? Are you saying we knew it would happen and did it? Is it our fault? It’s your fault for calling the cops, and that bastard detective who stirred things up without evidence?’
‘We just did what you thought. We just did what we always do. You know it and Detective Han knows it too. You knew it and you blame us for it?’
‘Guys like us are just dogs. When we see food, we just run forward without looking back. Then, is the guy who threw the food a bad guy? Is the dog that runs to the food because it’s good a bad dog?’
Hah- The dialogue is good. Manager Hong filmed a movie in his head.
Even in the movie that Chief Hong likes, he corrupts the prosecutor who is depressed and angry with his tongue.
What a touching scene that was!
‘But why did Director Choi come to the office? I told you to bring him to a place that set the mood.’
Is there anything else you would like to report?
Before Manager Hong could even begin to resolve his doubts, the office door opened.
“Director Choi. Thank you for your hard work······.”
The face that was revealed as the door opened was covered in a mask and sunglasses.
Sunglasses on a mask? Coming into the office?
Director Choi did not like sunglasses. He especially hated wearing them indoors. He thought that it was because indoors, the clarity of vision was poor, even though it was okay outside. He did not wear sunglasses that dark even outdoors.
who?
A slim face, a style that imitates Director Choi, but with long hair.
Manager Hong could tell who he was.
‘Hamaru? Then what about Director Baek? What about Director Choi?’
As the thought passed, Maru opened the door and came in, and his shoulders moved slightly.
Something that looked blurry hit Manager Hong’s cheekbone. The blunt impact caused Manager Hong to lose consciousness.

It was World Livestock that Maru had been working at for nearly two years. At the time, I wondered why there were so many CCTVs installed in livestock processing and distribution companies.
But that wasn’t it. World Livestock was not just a simple livestock product processing and distribution company.
Since there were almost no blind spots in the CCTV, Maru chose the front method. He imitated Director Choi, who was of similar build, entered through the front door, and quickly took care of him.
Opening the front door and going in was no problem.
Director Baek’s Benz had an electronic key, so when he headed toward the main gate, the door opened automatically. Since he knew where Director Baek’s Benz was parked, there was no room for suspicion.
I headed to the office as calmly as Director Choi. There was no one to stop me, and since it was Saturday, there was no other hustle and bustle.
My heart, which had been pounding like crazy before the work, started beating calmly once it happened. It felt like a fast yet calm torrent was running through my blood vessels.
after-
Maru, breathing deeply and steadily, stood in front of the office door.
Snap – My fingers touched the long sashimi handle hidden in my jacket sleeve.
Maru opened the office door without stopping.
The expanded field of vision and senses showed the people inside the office. There were two people inside the office, one was Manager Hong and the other was Ms. Kim, who was both an accountant and secretary.
Manager Hong sat on the sofa with a bright face, as if he was imagining something. Ms. Kim, sitting across from Manager Hong, had an innocent expression on her face, as if waiting for the end of work.
“Director Choi. Thank you for your hard work······.”
Before Manager Hong could continue speaking, Maru threw the sashimi he had hidden in his sleeve.
The sashimi flew in a straight line and pierced Manager Hong’s cheekbone and lodged in the sofa.
Manager Hong’s eyes rolled back with a bang.
Using the recoil of his right arm that threw the sashimi, he threw the sashimi he was holding in his left hand towards where Kim Yang’s head was.
It was truly a lightning-quick throw.
Teeing!
‘Did you avoid it?’
‘how?’
In an instant, the short hair fell flat down. Maru instinctively grabbed the clothes hanging on the hanger next to the office door and jumped onto the office chair.
Dadadak!
He jumped onto the desk, stepping on the office chair, and threw the clothes he was holding towards the desk where Ms. Kim was.
Bbakkang!
Bbakkang!
Clothes with holes all over them. The low gunshot sound characteristic of a silencer echoed through the office.
The clothes that had been shot fluttered and fell. Maru, who had blocked Kim Yang’s view with the clothes, pulled out the sashimi from his waistband and threw it.
Pishuk-
The sashimi made a sound as if it was being cut through something. Maru, not letting his guard down, pulled out a new sashimi from his waistband. He had brought five, so there were two left.
stomach?
Or below?
The opponent was holding a gun with a silencer. He also appeared to be a skilled marksman.
‘A gun in Korea?’
Maru cursed inwardly.
Tick, tick.
The second hand of the large clock hanging on the office wall moved absentmindedly.
It would have been disadvantageous to stall for time. Ms. Kim could have tried to call outside, and there might have been an emergency bell somewhere.
Above all, the opponent was holding a pistol with a silencer. Time was not on Maru’s side.
Tick, tick.
stomach?
Or below?
Maru moved according to instinct.
======
======
It was Ms. Kim who was glancing at the clock on the wall.
When I heard Manager Hong contacting the security office, it seemed like Director Choi was coming. After Director Choi came and reported, I was off work.
‘That damn ginseng. If it’s ginseng, I’m just going crazy. Going crazy.’
It’s not funny. Who wasn’t a ginseng? There was a time when everyone was ginseng and ginseng, and they were like flowers. That’s how Ms. Kim waited for work to end. Who would want to join a company dinner to please someone?
If it wasn’t for the Hanwoo Topple beef, there was no reason to sit down at an awkward company dinner. Like all the women who were dragged here, Sansam would be dripping soup, and as a fellow woman, I had to wipe away her tears and snot, coax her, and comfort her. It wasn’t even the Hanwoo Topple beef, so emotional labor was out of the question.
The door opened and Manager Hong’s expression changed as he welcomed Director Choi.
A peculiar intuition or something else sounded the alarm.
The sense of crisis I felt in China as a child came back to me. Goosebumps were rising.
Kim Yang lowered her head the moment something caught Director Hong’s eye.
Quick!
It was sashimi. Sashimi flew straight to where his head had been and got stuck in the cabinet. Sashimi was stuck all the way to the handle in the galvanized steel cabinet.
Kim Yang took out the Glock he had hidden under his desk. It was a pistol with a silencer from Silent and Mute.
The moment I lowered my gun to shoot the guy’s shin or ankle under the desk, the guy moved first.
Dadadak!
A guy who steps on chairs and jumps onto desks.
The moment I raised the gun, something fluttered.
Ppopang!
Ppopang!
Two consecutive shots to the shadow’s head and heart.
A modified Mozambique drill shot was fired, imprinted on the body.
Flutter~
Shhh- It was clothes. My vision was blocked. It was dangerous.
Kim Yang rolled to the side and pointed the gun upwards again.
Boom!
The moment I rolled to the left, the sashimi pierced through my left shoulder.
If the roll had been even a little late, it would have clearly hit him in the chest instead of the shoulder.
Swallowing back a scream, Kim Yang was overcome with a fear she had forgotten.
The fear of escaping from China as a child. A deeper fear gripped Kim Yang.
The sticky smell of death made me forget the pain of the sashimi stuck in my back.
‘Shall we come up?’
‘Or below?’
I couldn’t put strength into my left arm because of the knife that pierced my left shoulder.
Since I couldn’t hold the pistol with both hands, my accuracy dropped.
But I could still shoot.
She had a loyal gun and trusty bullets left.
Kim Yang held the gun tightly as if trying to shake off the fear he had never experienced before.
Back when she was young, it was a gun that protected Kim Yang in that hellish China.
Tick-tick-
The ticking of the second hand seemed to be a call to life.
As long as I had a gun, there was nothing to be afraid of. There was nothing to be afraid of.
Because the bullet was fair and just, it sent those sticky little bastards flying in one blast.
So, you can probably overcome it now.
Ms. Kim kept her mouth shut.
Manager Hong never imagined it would turn out like this.
That Manager Hong. How could he have gone so meaningless in just a few seconds?
It must be a guy named Maru.
The guy that Director Choi and Director Baek said they would bring.
Just 3-4 months ago, he was the guy who received his paycheck with an innocent face.
A handsome face came to mind. He was the type of guy who couldn’t even catch a cockroach.
But how can someone like that change like this in just two and a half months since he went to Japan?
The fact that Director Choi and Director Baek didn’t come together meant that the guy had caught them.
Even if you let your guard down, is it possible for an ordinary person to catch those two?
‘What kind of monster did Manager Hong awaken?’
Tick-tick-
The pain started creeping up on me. It was difficult to hold the gun with one hand.
‘Hold on.’
My whole body yearned for life.
Kim Yang pointed his gun upward and glanced under the desk.
‘Come down.’
‘Come down.’
My nerves were tense.
It’s a matter of the account.
