Rust - Chapter 25

RUST -25
Maru checked Kim Yang’s location with his cannon phone. He was about 700 to 800 meters ahead.
‘As expected, Ms. Kim.’
It did not disappoint. The dark back road that Maru was walking on was long and parallel to the main road.
However, since there were small alleys and back alleys here and there, it was a place that was difficult to see if you were hiding in a dark place.
‘There must be a few people hiding over there.’
In particular, the brightness of the LED lights was ambiguous. It could have been made bright enough, but they said they lowered the brightness because they received complaints that it was too bright outside the window. This ambiguous brightness will affect the recording of the car black box or the CCTV installed in the villa.
The dim lighting might help there, but it didn’t help here either.
Maru glanced back as if he was trembling with fear. The big guys were following him from 30~40m away, four of them, and Detective Ahn. They were approaching him without hiding the fact that they were following him, occupying the middle of the narrow road.
‘What on earth are you thinking?’
Maru didn’t expect it to be this obvious.
I thought that Detective Ahn would come alone or at most two others would come to block the road. There were five people including Detective Ahn. If you consider the people hiding in the alleys, there must have been at least 15 people.
‘It’s not good.’
There were more people than expected. The number of people in the 3rd drug division that followed was at most 3~4 people? It was a number that could be immediately soaked if the organization wanted to just soak them.
Could it be that Detective Ahn had caught wind of this and was thinking of ignoring Detective Han from the Narcotics Division 3? Maru remembered what Detective Ahn had said in the bathroom. What he had said about him dying in the line of duty.
What if there’s someone who extracts information even within the 3rd Narcotics Division? They didn’t know that they had location trackers, cameras, and wiretaps attached to their bodies. So they just dragged them in, tortured them, and then disposed of them, while also planning to deal with a detective who was following them?
I tried to arrest Detective Ahn, but it turned out to be a disaster.
Ugh-
‘Damn, nothing comes easy.’
There was no other way than to hope that Miss Kim would do it properly. Maru sent a short text message on his phone. Miss Kim sent a text message, but there was no time to explain it in detail.
‘I’ll figure it out.’
What can we do in this situation? Everyone should do it on their own. Maru shouted loudly.
“Detective Ahn, please save me!”
Although it was a back street, there were quite a few people passing by. At around 8 p.m., people suddenly glanced at Maru, who was shouting loudly, and passed by. Some of them started secretly taking pictures of Maru with their cell phones.
“Ah- that fucking kid is really rotten to the core! That thing.”
Detective Ahn clicked his tongue, pushing back his thin hair.
“Hey, cover that mouth. You know that place up there? The construction site. Take me there.”
“yes.”
As the big guys made contact with the walkie-talkie, men in black suits approached Uru-ru Maru from a dark alley. Maru shouted desperately.
“Save the people!”
“Detective Ahn, I really don’t know anything!”
“Please save me!”
“Someone please call the police.”
“Please call 119.”
“Kidnap. Save the person!”
The roar was loud. The large ones formed a circle around the floor and growled.
“Do you want to die?”
“Why don’t you be quiet?”
Maru glanced around.
Even though I was causing such a mess, neither the detectives from the Narcotics Division 3 nor the detectives from the police department came.
Maru frowned.
I didn’t see it that way, detective. Is he the type that only looks at the mouth?
In that case, we have no choice but to move first.
There are people filming, so they won’t be able to commit violence themselves.
Whether he hit her or not, Maru had no intention of just standing there.
“Eww! Save me!”
Maru performed a pantomime towards the surrounding giants as if he was being beaten by a group.
The large men threatened those taking pictures of them.
“Don’t take pictures! I told you not to take pictures!”
“Hey, student, come here. Come here. Bring your phone here.”
“Hey, mister? That’s you. Take out your phone from your bag. Quickly.”
A few of the big guys started to coax the people nearby, snatch the phones, delete the videos, and control the surroundings. When the big guys pushed Maru, he would fly as if he had been assaulted, fall backwards, and while struggling, break the wiretapping device and microphone.
It would have been meaningless if a detective hadn’t intervened anyway. If we look at the situation so far, it would seem like they were neglecting the person whose life was in danger.
Maru, who had even blown away the location tracker, shouted with relief. Now, all he had to do was tie up Detective Han and Detective Ahn at once.
“Detective Han! You said you’d come if it got dangerous!”
“Detective Ahn. I really don’t know. Please save me!”
Detective Ahn shook his head violently after hearing the shout.
Why- why- why- why-
A patrol car approached with its siren blaring, as if someone had reported it to the surrounding area. Detective Ahn took out his detective ID and hung it around his neck, then went to the patrol car.
The police officer saluted after seeing Detective Ahn’s ID.
“I came out after receiving the report. What happened?”
“What’s going on? The drug squad is arresting a drug dealer.”
The police officer who saw the big guys handling the floor like a load made a face wondering what to do.
Detective Ahn said with a warm smile.
“This is a big deal. You know me. Detective Ahn from the Narcotics Division 2. If you take care of this and go in…”
The police officer nodded in understanding after seeing Detective Ahn’s expression, nod, and intonation.
“I’ll just go in and look at this. Detective Ahn said he’ll sort it out.”
“Okay. Okay. Good work. Good work.”
Detective Ahn sent a patrol car and frowned.
Maru shook off the big men who had grabbed his arms and ran towards Detective Ahn. Maru’s clothes were torn, revealing the marks where the wiretapping device had been attached. Detective Ahn snickered at the sight of the broken wiretapping device.
“Oh really – everyone – makes people tired. Why do people live such tiring lives?”
“Please save me, Detective Ahn. Just save me.”
Shouting, Maru fell flat on his face in front of Detective Ahn.
Has Detective Ahn ever seen such a bastard?
The moment I lowered my head, a hole was made in my head with a thud sound.
Puck- Detective Ahn falls backwards.
The 15 or more large men froze for a moment. And in that short 2~3 seconds, four of the large men’s heads flew.
At that moment, ‘Huh!?’, 7.62mm sniper bullets were sprayed in all directions.
uh?
Aaaah!
Eww!
A large man sat down in surprise. His legs were shaking. Did he get flustered by the sudden situation?
puck!
A hole was made between the eyebrows as he crouched down. The bullet with strong kinetic energy pierced the back of the big guy’s head and left a mark on the asphalt road.
puck!
Even the big guy who lowered his head after seeing the scene was hit by a bullet in the back of his head before he could even raise his head. The bullet that went through his back of his head revealed his face.
Whether the big guys bowed their heads, crouched, or hid behind telephone poles, they were all shot in the head or chest and fell to their knees. If you stayed where you were, you died.
Eww!
Run away! –
The survivors screamed. They crawled along the roadside, twisting their bodies like earthworms. There were already more than ten corpses piled up.
“Phone – Support!”
“Request assistance!”
The moment a big guy was about to say something while holding a cell phone, the cell phone and the hand holding it flew away at once.
Kkaaaak!
The giant, whose hand had been blown off, writhed in pain. The moment his head appeared next to the telephone pole, there was a thud! and it became quiet.
Maru was surprised by this too. Is that possible?
The few remaining lumps were flattened and left to harden to create a minimum surface area.
The big guys couldn’t even take out their phones, couldn’t raise their heads, and couldn’t even move to run away.
It’s like being in an ice kingdom.
Maru moved, crawling among the corpses.
The road that was filled with screams and struggles became quiet as if it had never been that way in just 10 to 12 seconds.
Maru, who had crawled to the street, suddenly got up and ran.
Whether Maru went out onto the street or not, the survivors just stood there frozen like ice statues.
That was it. Maru went out onto the main road with a light heart and waved his hand at a taxi. He was able to catch a taxi easily, as if he had been waiting for one.
Maru took off his torn jacket and put it away. The taxi driver glanced at Maru in the rearview mirror as he took off his tattered clothes.
“Sinchon. No, please go to Hongik University entrance.”
“Hongdae entrance? Where should I go from the entrance?”
“Hongik Univ. Entrance Station. Hongik Univ. Entrance Station on Subway Line 2.”
“Which exit should I take?”
“Towards the closer side.”
“Yes, I understand.”
The taxi driver spoke in a slightly strained voice. How long had it been? Five minutes? The taxi stopped at a red light.
Doo do …
Doo do …
A detective kept calling Maru’s cell phone. After a few times of not answering, Maru opened the phone and screamed.
“What are you doing, Detective Han? Huh? Are you just going to leave me to die? Are you going to leave me as bait?”
[No, that’s not it.]
“What do you mean, no? You said you’d come right away, but you’re dead. People are dying in the middle of Seoul, and no one is coming even when you beg them to save you. What is this? Whether you die or not, you’re just going to force me in and watch, because you’re going to catch the detective?”
[I really didn’t mean to do that. You’re mistaken.]
“A misunderstanding? That wasn’t my intention? I don’t remember now. If you just say it, the three-piece set is complete. Okay. I’ll appoint a lawyer for you, so don’t contact me, but contact the lawyer I’ve appointed. I’ll send you the number as soon as I appoint a lawyer.”
[That’s not it.]
“Should I curse? Or was it that you were planning to say, ‘That wasn’t it after I died.’ And then raise a glass of soju? That’s enough. Don’t contact me. If you contact me again, I’ll leak it to the press. I’ll leak this whole situation to the press, the internet, and Newtube. Don’t contact me.”
A detective said something, but Maru didn’t listen and just turned off his phone and turned it off.
Hoo- Maru sighed and closed his eyes. There was nothing left to worry about.
A shooting incident occurred in the middle of downtown Seoul. The victims were gangsters.
In South Korea, which is known for having the highest level of public safety in the world, a mass shooting occurred, and most of the victims were gangsters. This must have been like a bomb exploding for the police.
The same goes for gangsters. The weapon was not a simple pistol, air gun, gas gun, or shotgun, but a professional sniper rifle. The police would roll their eyes and rush at anyone associated with gangsters. They would be even more shocked if they found out that a detective was stuck among the piles of gangsters’ corpses.
The same goes for detective Han. Just think about the video footage from the surveillance camera attached to Maru or the audio recorded by the wiretap. If they were to get caught, detective Han would be screwed. Because he attached it and left it alone. Even if he avoided it, there was nowhere to escape since there was an audio recorded separately by Maru on his cell phone.
Okay, okay, Maru nodded slightly.
It’s not the best, but it’s at least a bit better than the worst, right?
I opened my eyes feeling like someone was watching me. Glance – the taxi driver looking at the floor in the rearview mirror.
Maru felt uncomfortable with the glare and eye contact. The moment he raised his head and looked out the window, the road seemed strange. He could have just taken Sinchon-ro and gone straight, but this road was Seogang-ro. In other words, he was taking Gangbyeonbuk-ro.
“Sir? I told you it’s near Hongik University Station, Line 2 Exit.”
The driver glanced at Maru through the rearview mirror again and continued driving in silence.
A nasty look.
What is this guy?
Maru looked at the door in the direction he was sitting for a moment.
There is no interior door pull handle. Can’t open the door from the inside?
The other side was the same. Both sides?
“What the fuck! Who are you!”
“What is this now!”
Whether Maru shouted or not, the taxi started to speed up as if it was telling him to eat shit about the speed limit. At around 8 o’clock on a Saturday, the taxi started to cut in and gradually increased its speed even though there were quite a few cars. It seemed like it was about to run off onto Gangbyeonbuk-ro.
Maru quickly put on his seatbelt and kicked the back of the taxi driver’s headrest.
Creak!
The taxi driver’s neck was half broken and he was thrown against the steering wheel as the headrest was torn apart.
Liar-
The steering wheel twisted sharply as the airbag deployed.
It’s a matter of the account.
