The Magician’s Memorial - Chapter 51

Episode 51
I felt strange.
Quillvian rolled his eyes, his head resting on the pillow.
The world was still black. My eyes weren’t functioning properly.
I’m sure that’s true.
I turned my head to the left. The wall was right next to the bed. For some reason, I felt like I could see the numerous diagonal lines carved into it.
He raised his hand and scanned the wall.
“what?”
I straightened my upper body and looked around.
I felt the desk that Drich had been using, and the ropes that had been installed on the floor. I shifted my gaze. What I saw was the rotten, crushed fruit that I had not been able to empty.
I got out of bed and walked towards the fruit rotting in the corner. I bent down and held out my hand.
There really was fruit.
It was a strange sensation.
My eyes were still damaged. It’s normal not to be able to see, but why do I feel like I can see my surroundings?
He held the rotten fruit in his left hand and covered his eyes with his right hand. Even though his eyes were covered, he could still see the rotten fruit.
“It’s not snow.”
There is an unknown organ that perceives the color of the wind as gold, the color of the hawk as green, and the color of the goblin as red.
the sixth sense.
Is this the sixth sense that Lil was talking about?
A faint smile came out.
I can see even without my eyes. I’m finally free from the past where I had to be nervous every time I took a step and swear every time I picked something up.
Quilbian slowly left the room. The moment he got out of the building without relying on the rope, he looked up at the sky and shouted.
“Fuck! I can see it! I can see it!”
Although not everything felt clear, I could tell where everything was.
Besides, there was no big problem because the shape became clearer when I concentrated.
“You like it that much?”
Twella’s voice came from behind me. Normally, I would have ignored it, but today I looked at it with a happy heart. It seemed like I could look at the horrible person who killed me with affection for just one day.
“Why are you like that?”
It was blurry.
When I was blind and couldn’t see anything, Twella’s vision, which was clearer than anything else in the world, turned hazy today, as if trapped in fog.
“what?”
“It’s blurry. Ah! I see.”
Quilbian approached Twella and grabbed her shoulder.
“Fuck, there are only a few days left until we see each other again.”
“What are you talking about?”
“My head is getting better! That’s why you’re dizzy.”
Twella’s body was shaken without mercy.
“Do you really want me to disappear?”
“If you were a human, you wouldn’t be asking questions like that. Oh, you’re not a human.”
I let go of the fantasy.
“Anyway, I’ll accept you talking next to me for a day. I feel good about it. Seeing you like this… … .”
I looked back while preparing coffee. The illusion of Twella standing there had disappeared.
“You can’t stand seeing me happy, you fucking bitch. Congratulate me a little, okay? That’s what friends should do.”
I went up to the rooftop with the coffee I had prepared, smiling. I took the stairs two at a time. I couldn’t help but hum.
“You look good.”
Winte said as he took the glass.
“Did you know?”
“Because the time has come.”
Quilbian looked intently at Winte. He wanted to see what kind of human he was, but Winte was still just glowing with golden light.
“Mr. Winte.”
“The face will gradually become visible.”
“Where’s the fun in speaking if I always say what I want to say first?”
“What do you want me to do with something so simple?”
I looked down. A chair had appeared before I knew it.
“This is convenient. Is it something like ‘chair-making liquor’?”
“no.”
“sure?”
“I just made it.”
He asked again, sitting on the chair.
“Can I learn it too?”
“This isn’t academic. It’s not something that can be taught.”
“If it’s difficult, there’s nothing I can do. I know my limits. I just want to go out there and make money.”
The conversation stopped. Silence fell, but it wasn’t uncomfortable. In fact, I was more used to keeping my mouth shut than talking.
Because the work at the congratulatory address wasn’t easy enough to have time to chat.
Only the occasional sound of coffee being drunk could be heard.
“It seems like preparations are almost done, so shall we begin?”
“Yes? What are you preparing?”
“Prepared not to die.”
At the same time, the body rose.
The body rose about 10 meters.
“Now, just a moment!”
“Don’t be too scared. I’ll put you down safely.”
“Where are you going to put it?”
I started feeling intense dizziness.
I closed my eyes tightly and opened them again.
The scenery changed. The rooftop of the building was gone, and a forest was spread out at my feet.
“How many magic tricks do you have in your head?”
I turned my head. There was Winte on my right. Before, his entire body was covered in gold, but now only his face was covered in golden waves.
Winte sat on an invisible chair, crossing his left leg and leisurely lifting his coffee cup.
“Make the hardened Nak move again. That’s a start.”
“Wait a minute. What are you… … .”
I had a gut feeling.
It was so dirty and ominous.
Quillvian looked at the forest spread out below. To be exact, he stared at the red light embedded here and there in the middle of the forest.
There are fucking goblins over there.
“I know you well.”
As soon as Winte finished speaking with a smile, his body fell.
Quilbian shouted as he watched Winte walk away.
“Hey, you little shit!”
thud!
My back was cold. It was a minor injury considering I had fallen from tens of meters in the air, but I had no time to feel relieved.
There was a goblin right in front of my nose.
A monster with a crimson glow like the one that appeared in the dormitory.
It looked like a snail. A really big snail.
Dozens of long tentacles sprouted from its sleek body. It was a sight that made my hair stand on end.
The tentacles that had been fluttering stiffened all at once and headed towards where Quilbian was.
“… … I guess that’s an eye.”
I feel it.
That guy recognized me.
A body covered in mucus approached.
Very slowly.
Quilbian took a deep breath and tried touching Nak. He still flinched and did not move as he wished.
Plague.
I looked around. I saw a stone big enough to fit in my hand. I took a quick step forward while keeping an eye on the goblin.
The tentacles of the tall bastard moved.
Quilbian grabbed the stone and confronted the goblin.
Would it be better to go first and take a picture?
It didn’t seem like a rational monster like the ascetics. If it was a large bug, I could probably beat it like last time.
“You just have to break your head.”
The body of the thing that had been stuck to the ground slowly lifted. Quilbian’s head slightly bent.
It looks like it’s well over 3m high.
He looks stupid, but why does he feel so intimidating?
When I couldn’t see, I rushed in without knowing, but now that I can see, I feel needlessly scared.
I looked up at the sky.
You can see the golden color printed like dots.
Will you come to help me if it gets dangerous?
The worry was short. It wouldn’t come. It was obvious that if I watched from above and died, I would just disappear, saying, “There’s nothing I can do.”
I had to pull myself together.
Well, since when have you been asking for help from other people?
Even when I was working, when I had a cold, and when I was being nagged by the owner’s daughter, I took care of everything on my own.
That’s what life is like.
You have to figure it out on your own.
He ran out, clutching a stone.
Since Nak didn’t move, the only thing I could trust was his body.
The tentacles that had sprouted a span in length moved. Quilbian turned to the side and approached the goblin.
Even though it was within arm’s reach, the goblin was slow.
I hit the bastard’s torso with the stone I was holding.
Fusik!
The squishy flesh was torn apart.
The distance widened immediately. The goblin twisted its entire body. Tentacles gathered at the wounded area.
The thing that had been making strange noises and squirming began to move with its body still on the floor.
Quilbian looked at the goblin while holding up the stone.
I was running away. Slowly.
I thought for a moment and then ran out. I hit the area corresponding to the waist with a stone.
The mucus spread out and something thin oozed out from inside. The bastard shook his body without mercy.
“Please be nice!”
He clung to the slippery body and repeatedly struck it with a rock. After crushing and digging, a large chunk of flesh fell out.
The creature split apart at the gaping wound. The tentacled side continued to move forward, while the severed body stuck to the ground, emitting a foul smell.
Quilbian chased after the goblin and swung a stone.
Soon after, the remaining half also stopped moving.
The body of the guy that had appeared crimson gradually lost its light.
Dead.
Quillvian could tell for sure.
Despite all the intense movement, it wasn’t that hard. My breathing was fine.
Above all, the hand that held the stone was clean without a single scratch.
Could 70 days in bed be taking its toll on your body?
It was when I saw the dead goblin shaking off its hands. Black mist rose from the goblin’s corpse.
The azure danced around in the air and then rushed towards Quilbian.
The speed was so fast that Quilbian couldn’t avoid it even if he saw it.
Eww, I screamed and bent down, but the black mist had already seeped into my body.
What happened?
It was a time when I was very tense in preparation for possible pain.
There was no change.
No, on the contrary, I felt more and more refreshed. The soles of my feet that were cold from running were loosened up, and my eyes that were slightly sore were also feeling better.
It was an aura that looked ominous.
“I can now receive Nak.”
When did you come?
Winte was behind.
“Are you taking a narc? Is that what just entered my body a narc?”
“Yeah. You’ve seen them consume Narc a few times.”
“I saw it, but it was a goblin that was… … .”
Quilbian said, stroking his arm.
“I’m not a goblin?”
“No. But that doesn’t mean it’s on the other side.”
Over there.
Quilbian realized that the ‘other side’ that Winte had spoken of was the outside world.
“What did you do to me?”
“I didn’t do anything. You did it.”
“Stop it. I’m not a goblin. I don’t need that disgusting thing.”
“You need it. You need to have the strength to remove that nark that’s stuck to your eye.”
“Surely that power is… … .”
“You’d better hurry. Even goblins who haven’t even reached the level of a yellow dragon are not all stupid. Some of them will realize that their prey has appeared and are already coming.”
Quillvian quickly scanned his surroundings.
My sixth sense was whispering.
Get out of here right now.
“Winte….”
Before I could even call his name, Winte flew up. He lingered in the distant sky for a moment before disappearing.
“Fuck.”
As I was searching the floor for a discarded stone, I saw a bundle of amulets.
He muttered to himself while holding about 80 talismans.
“I can’t use magic, so what?”
It was absurd, but I took it anyway.
The sense of crisis was growing stronger. Something on a completely different level than a stupid snail was approaching.
Quillvian jumped into the bushes.
