The Necromancer Commands Slaves, Not Undeads - Chapter 48
48 – Soirée (4)
The Third Prince was at the trial. He was the younger brother of the princess and the person who received the most negative reviews among the princes.
He is an immature member of the imperial family who is recognized by everyone, with countless people looking at him behind his back and even the emperor sighing every time he sees him.
However, I never dreamed that the name of that immature child would appear here. I heard that the friendship between the princess and the prince was quite good…
I slowly gazed at the green snake. There seemed to be no lies in what he said.
“Good. We were planning to stay with the Golden Lion for a while. We have a favor to repay him. If the Golden Lion follows, we will follow too.”
“I understand. The place I’m trying to guide you to is not that far from the capital, so it won’t take long.”
The green snake grabbed the horse’s reins and slowly began to lead the way. I guess I can just follow him like this. We followed him.
The green snake and the golden lion talked as they walked. Friends who hadn’t seen each other in a long time enjoyed the holiday. The golden lion looked very happy, as if he had forgotten for a moment what he had to do.
“After Gladius was defeated by Cretio, I thought the black wolf and you would die, but the dragon is still alive.”
“It’s only natural to think that way since he wasn’t someone like you that other clans liked. In fact, except for you, me, and Black Wolf, it looks like all the other server guys are dead.”
“How did you survive?”
I overheard their story. The server had heard a little about the fall of the Gladius Clan from the Black Wolf, so it wasn’t something they couldn’t understand.
The green snake turned his head and looked at me. The golden lion pats the green snake on the shoulder.
“It’s okay, he’s my benefactor. He’s not the type of person to talk about the clan anywhere.”
I stared at his gray eyes. I smiled.

“Don’t worry about me, just keep talking.”
“I hesitated because it wasn’t a particularly pleasant story to share with others. If you are the benefactor of the Golden Lion, it would be better to explain it to you.”
The green snake was worried. A short silence lingered in this place and he slowly opened his mouth.
“I am from the Gladius Clan, the same as the Golden Lion and the Black Wolf. As an orphan, I moved around the slums and was taken in by the clan. Humans who become clan members have the rank of server. Servers are recognized within the clan. “You are exploited as their servant until you become a vampire. I was a server, and so were the Golden Lion and the Black Wolf.”
“Hey, I have one question: What happens to vampires?”
Dorothy, who was walking next to me, asked a question. Now that I think about it, I was curious. If the way to become a vampire was to simply absorb the blood of a vampire, vampires wouldn’t be such a rare thing in this world.
“You can drink the blood of a vampire. However, among vampires, you must drink the blood of a predator.”
“Predator?”
“This refers to high-ranking vampires. They are lords who lead the vampire clan, and they are all powerful beings.”
It seems to be another word referring to the vampire lord that Morse talked about before.
What that means is that normal vampire blood does not cause infection, and the blood in the princess’s wine glass will naturally become Predator’s blood.
“To continue the story, I performed the clan’s duties as a server. In the process, I met a golden lion and a black wolf and became friends with them.”
The story told by the green snake was interesting. Like the opportunity to learn the sword in the clan, or the anecdote about getting involved with the golden lion or the black wolf.
If the current situation wasn’t to find the person who turned the princess into a vampire, I would have wanted to ask her to tell more interesting anecdotes.
“As time passed, the clan was destroyed. It was defeated in the war with another vampire clan, Cretio. The war between vampires is cruel. The defeated lord can survive, but the clan members, property, etc. Are lost. “Everything I had built up was destroyed. In other words, I was naturally at risk of death because I was a member of Gladius’ clan and the Lord’s property.”
“I, too, died when my clan was defeated… But my blood was delicious, so other clans liked it, so it was a rare case where I survived.”
The Golden Lion shrugged her shoulders. In other words, does it feel like a snack preferred by vampires? Maybe it was not a coincidence but an inevitability that the golden lion bit the princess on the shoulder…
“In my case, I was lucky. I managed to escape during the chaos of the war, and while wandering around the empire, I was lucky enough to meet His Highness the Prince and continue to live up to this day.”
After the Green Snake’s long story ended, a landscape of ruins began to appear.
“It will arrive soon.”
This place looked like it had once been a village. The collapsed roof becomes rubble and piles up on the street. The walls of the buildings all have large holes or are rotted.
The sound of bugs twisting was heard from under the village well. If you look closely, all you can see is deep darkness. When my rotten body stung my nose, I covered it and walked away from the well.
Caw! Caw! The eerie sound of a crow croaking reaches my ears. No matter how much I looked around, I couldn’t find any traces of people in these ruins.
It was an eerie town, like something out of a horror movie. It would definitely be a good place to talk privately in a place like this.
“Please follow me.”
The green snake found its way among the ruins as if it was familiar. I wrapped my arms around my body and spoke quietly.
“It’s spooky. Isn’t Dorothy scary?”
“The skeleton the master summons looks scarier.”
“That’s true, but…”
I couldn’t think of anything to refute. In fact, there wasn’t much scarier in this world than a roaring skeleton with blue eye lights shooting out.
“If you’re scared, should I hold your hand?”
Dorothy looked at me. Judging from the smile on his lips, he seems to be in a playful mood.
Oh my gosh, I was so dumbfounded that I let out a laugh. Dorothy has grown a lot these days. He knows how to play pranks on me…
“Actually, don’t you want to hold Dorothy’s hand?”
I gently held Dorothy’s hand. Dorothy’s hands, which had once been infinitely soft, suddenly became calloused.
Half a year has already passed since Dorothy learned the sword from the black wolf. Traces of her efforts were engraved on her hands.
I touched Dorothy’s palms as we held each other. The feel of the hard calluses felt unfamiliar.
“Master, it tickles…”
Dorothy spoke his words in a shaky voice. She must have been quite tickled, so she gently withdrew her hand from where she was holding it.
“Oh, I’m sorry. I stopped without realizing it.”
“Stop talking there and quickly follow me.”
The sound of a golden lion fussing was heard. Before we knew it, they had gone far. I walked diligently to narrow the gap.
“Dorothy, please come quickly, too.”
Dorothy followed behind me without saying a word, with her head down.
She was clearly walking next to you just a moment ago…
It seemed like I groped my hands too pervertedly. I’ll have to apologize to her later.
The green snake guided us to the collapsed building. As I entered the building and cleared away the debris, I could see the entrance to the basement.
When I entered the entrance, there were stairs. We went down the stairs to the basement. Small lanterns were visible on the wall of the stairs.
Small lanterns provided lighting. Still, the basement stairs were dark. I looked carefully at my feet, relying on the dim light. We continued down.
The destination was located quite deep. The stairs going down had no end in sight.
“It’s in a fairly deep place.”
“Yes, I don’t know what it was built for, but it’s the perfect place to have secret and important conversations.”
Finally we arrived in the basement. The stairs were so long that I was worried about climbing them later.
The walls and floor of the basement are made of white stone. The area was as wide as the depth of the stairs. It was large enough to accommodate about 50 people without any problems.
It looked like a shelter as there were several beds, desks, and closet-like furniture in the basement.
A purple crystal ball was placed in front of the desk located in the very center of the basement.
The green snake was familiar with manipulating the crystal ball. Then, a soft light came into the crystal ball.
“Your Royal Highness, as ordered, we have brought the Golden Lion and his defender.”
Then, noise is heard from the crystal ball, and then a voice with noise comes out.
“Ah, ah… Crackling- Anyway, this can-like magic water… Crackling- That’s why you shouldn’t trust the junk sold by the poor people!”
Something that was far from the dignity of His Highness the Prince was heard. But the green snake stood still with a familiar expression.
Once the crystal sphere’s communication was stabilized, the prince seemed to have calmed down as well, when a coughing sound was heard.
“I can hear it now… Hmm, my name is Julian von Russell-Wittenberg, the 3rd Prince of the Empire. Nice to meet you. I heard about the Golden Lion and his lawyer. They say something unreasonable happened to them.”
This confirms that the prince turned the princess into a vampire.
“I think Jim can relieve you of your injustice.”
The third prince, not knowing what might happen in the future, said in an arrogant voice that he would help us.
